      Hello,

       

      Because this panel was broken during installation by Legacy Construction, it typically is not an issue that we would be able to handle. That being said, we recommended that a contractor we use for our shower door installs go have a look and see if it is something replaceable, as ************ wanted a faster resolution than we could provide through the manufacturer, Maax Bath, by simply reordering. The tech Morgan's recommended ************ contact to resolve the issue noticed that when the metal frame for the shower door was not put together correctly, causing the glass to break upon installation. 

       

       When Morgan's contacted Maax to resolve the issue, we were told that it is not possible that this can happen, and we need to re-order the door at full price. We have kept the door and frame at our business and can prove that is absolutely what happened. In the meantime, we have reordered a full replacement at our expense to resolve the issue.

       

       Please note that we are a retail business and are willing to take responsibility for manufacturing defects, but do not have any involvement in the installation process.

      I have not yet received the written response which Morgan's Kitchen and Bath sent to you, the BBB. However, I did receive a text message from Morgan's yesterday afternoon stating that they will be assuming the cost for replacing the defective shower system. That is very much appreciated. However, I would like to keep this complaint active until the replacement shower system is received.

      In addition, the complaint was also made against the manufacturer - MAAX ************* I would like to ask the BBB to continue to pursue the complaint against ****. Apparently, they are not willing to stand behind any warranty for their defective product. Morgan's is compiling information on the defect and I would like the BBB to follow up with MAAX for a satisfactory resolve.

      In late-October, 2020, our ********* began installation of bathroom fixtures that we purchased from Morgan's Electric. When he got to installing the shower, he informed us that the glass shower ***************** were too tall to fit, hitting the ceiling sheetrock. We wanted the top of the glass to end about 6" from the ceiling, which we told the Morgan's employees who came to our house to measure. When we told the Morgan's employees about the problem, the employee who measured said we wanted it that way. We also talked to the manager, and sent a personal letter to the owner of Morgan's, describing our problem. The incorrect glass **************** is still sitting in our garage (shipping ticket ********), and Morgan's refuses to replace it with the correct-height door. We believe we should be refunded for this incorrect size, since it was Morgan's error, not ours. We paid in full for the incorrect door prior to its delivery.

      Regarding Complaint ID ********, by ***** and *******************.

      When we first were notified of the problem we asked to have the door brought back to us so we could work with customer to determine how to fix it.
      The door is evidently still at the customers location as we have not seen it returned to us.  Morgans does not measure for doors, we ask that measurements are made by customer, his contractor, or someone he hires to do it. To our knowledge hat was not done, and the customer confirmed the door dimensions.

      In the more recent past we have tried to contact the ***** by telephone. No one answers, so voice mails have been left and we have not gotten a return call.

      Morgans has wanted to help resolve this issue for some time, but without the customers feedback we cannot procced. We can work with the fabricator and order new glass for the door at a reduced price, or when/if the customer returns the doors,  a partial refund will be issued In accordance with our companys return policy for special orders.

      I look forward to hearing from you so we can reach a resolution as soon as possible.

      I am rejecting this response because: It is not accurate.  We wrote a letter to the owner when it first happened.  We have written many emails to them.  We purchased all our bathroom fixtures from them.  Before the project was started, two Morgans employees came out and measured everything.  We did no measuring ourselves.  The two side shower doors hit the ceiling.

      We have received NO responses from them....They just ignore us. 

      When we were purchasing our products, they were also terrible about keeping in touch with a job status or anything!!!
