I used Western Van & Storage because that's what my employer moving package assigned. The pick-up went well and quickly, but not the rest. They were difficult to deal with and late to deliver. They make you sign off on a number of boxes even though you're not involved in the counting process and they put boxes inside of larger boxes, so it's impossible to verify at delivery unless you have hours and even if you find it's off, your only option is to file a claim. With the claim, they are just interested in paying for the missing items and moving on, they are not interested in finding them. I had to follow-up several times just to be told that the "trace" they initiated didn't find my 4 totes of Christmas ornaments. How can they be lost? If delivered to the wrong person, surely someone would have reported it. If lost in WH, wouldn't it eventually be found? Other option is theft. They don't look into it further, they just dismiss it. A year later and I'm still missing a life of memories in those ornaments that can't be replaced. I'd like the company to investigate what specifically happened to my lost belongings. Also to note, there were several items damaged, some that didn't have outer box damage, but was thrown in unwrapped with other items.

We are contacting you because we recently had a bad experience with Western Van and Storage moving from *******, ** to **************, **. Some unusual things occurred during the move. Western Van and Storage is an agent of and affiliated with Allied Van Lines. We had a binding quote for our move and the contract we signed had the words Total Price Guarantee and also stated Charges due at delivery will consist of the Total Price Guarantee". When it came time for the delivery of our items Western Van and Storage told us that prices had gone up and the amount due on delivery would be an additional $3500. Fearing we would not get our valuables shipped to ************** we paid it even though we had a binding quote from them. Since our quote was with Western Van and Storage/Allied if was safe to assume that our household items would be shipped by Allied. After the move I called Allied corporate offices to complain about having to pay a ****** to get our goods and they told me that Western Van and Storage canceled our move with Allied. Western Van and Storage told Allied that we we thought Allied was too expensive and were going to ship with a different company. This is not true though, we had assumed all along that we were being moved by Allied. Then Western Van and Storage surrendered our belongs to a non affiliated moving company, ****************************., without our knowledge. We never signed a new contract with them and we were totally unaware of the different moving company. When our household items were finally delivered we also noticed that some of the papers we had signed had been altered and dates had been changed. It was very easy to see that someone used whiteout and then changed dates. We have since disputed the extra $3500 that we paid through our credit card company and that is still pending between them and Western Van and Storage. My move number with Allied was ******. The amount that I was originally quoted was $15,286.
