I worked for Arika for a couple months starting in September 2022 and ending in December 2022. She did not pay me wages as agreed and falsified paystubs and a W2. I have an ongoing claim with L&i that Arika has not responded to in the last 90 days. I went without income due to not being able to get unemployment and not being paid from Arika. Now I am facing a bankruptcy and cant file taxes until I have a correct W2. She ruined my financial stability and has made my life a nightmare. I hope she does not do this to anyone else and I know she did to the employee prior to me.Initial Complaint

I was invited to attend a financial retirement planning seminar with dinner provided, by Arika on 1/21/23. I was told that I could invite a guest, I invited my friend. When Arika's assistant called me to remind me of my reservation, I specifically asked him if parking would be validated at the Hyatt Regency. (My invited friend told me she was going to drive her car-I was able to go there by ***.) Arika's assistant told me that the parking gate would be open after 8:00 p.m. so we did not need to worry about getting a parking validation. When my friend and I left at 8:30 p.m. the parking gates were not open-my friend was going to drop me off at home so I went with her after the financial retirement seminar. She known that parking was going to be $18 my friend would have made other arrangements. Needless to say, we were disappointed that our evening ended this way-that my invited guest had to pay for parking after awkwardly backing from the gate. I reached out to Arika's assistant by text and phone call to explain what happened. The assistant was unresponsive to my 6 attempts at contact. Finally, when I texted that if I didn't hear back from Arika I was going to post a review to YELP. Arika responded quickly. I requested that Arika cover the $18 in parking. She said & I quote " My apologies for just now getting back to you. I leave the office at 4pm on Fridays and I was out yesterday. I have never been asked to cover the cost of parking after treating my guests to a $100 meal. Please send me your parking receipt and I will reimburse you as soon as I receive it." Arika has not reimbursed for the parking fees. Arika has also not denied that we received misinformation about parking from her assistant. I asked that Arika reimburse the $18 parking fee as her assistant misinformed us about the parking situation. She has refused as we didn't think to get a receipt when we paid at the parking vending machine. I provided her with pictures, 1 of the gate that was down.
