We contracted with Wedge Construction in Sept 2020 to build a screened in porch/deck for approximately $56,000. After 10 months, we had less than 1/4 of project completed, multiple failed submissions by contractor of required county paperwork (which we ended up submitting and paying for, items which the contractor was supposed to handle, per the contract), failed inspection of work contractor did complete (resulting in additional cost to us to remove/correct the mistakes), and breach of 3 items in contract. We have all email/text documentation that demonstrates proves our claims and also shows his unprofessionalism and lack of candor. He used the pandemic and his own health issues as justification for his behavior and failure to perform. We fired him in July 2021 after we gave him a deposit and first payment, totaling over $18,000 plus we paid over $400 in permits that he was was supposed to obtain. We want some money back and can provide additional documentation upon request.

      RE:  complaint ID ********; *****************************

      Dear Sir/Madame,

Thank you for your letter of 9/25/21, received last week regarding the aforementioned complaint.

First and foremost, one can't be in business over 35 years without some complaints.  Fortunately, far and few between.

I have read with great interest the ******** complaints and find most somewhat ridiculous!  Their complaint about **** sending pictures from the hospital, why?  Because they had the audacity of saying he was lying!  For the record he has spent no less than 14 days in CCU, been to the ER  6 times, received numerous test and surgeries, 11 to 20 transfusions, all in the last six months and continues on that because local physicians haven't been able to make a firm diagnosis .  Yes, cancer has been mentioned, and other diseases.  He may soon be admitted to **, ****, *******.  Not the ******* problem.  However, a clause in the signed contract states we cant be held responsible for reasons beyond our control, and another is product availability.  As they very well know, what they wanted wasn't available and the best guess of the vendors would be months out.  Then they wanted a daily update, which no vendor would provide.  There are so many omissions in their complaint, mis-statements, that we have no more to say.  I guess they don't watch the news and hear about supply problems during the last 18 months of the pandemic???

Lastly and most obviously they removed us from the job, leaving us no way to correct any real construction issues.

      Thank you for your time,

      WEDGE CONSTRUCTION, INC.
