I bought a new **** home in 2019. Noble construction has been the contracted roofer for **** homes. I have had a roof leak in the same spot each year I have owned the home whenever there is heavy rain. Noble roofing has been sent out 4 times and state that they sealed the leak but each year the saga continues. Noble roofing is not responsive or follow up at all. Issue reported for the 5th time on 12/30/2022. They sent a roof inspector out finally after a month on 1/27/2023; but did not call me to schedule an inspection and I was unavailable. I had to have them reschedule for 2/1/2023; when I would be home. They never showed up, I called and they said the cancelled due to weather conditions, but failed to call me to notify me they were canceling and needed to reschedule. I closed on my new home on 3/27/2019.First issue reported on 10/27/2019 ticket #******* Drywall repair issue reported on 11/8/2019 ticket #******* Second leak reported on 4/9/2020 ticket #******* Third incident reported on 4/26/2020 ticket #******* Fourth issue reported on 12/30/2022 ticket #*******

      To Whom It May Concern;

This is our response regarding *********************** complaint for his property located at ********************, Hayattsville, MD *********
Please note, all repairs to his home were completed on 2/10/23.
******** was contacted by phone *************) on 3/3/23 and a voice message was left asking him if he's had any further leaks after our 2/10/23 repair but our phone call has not been returned.

In regards to follow ups or response, our records show that we responded to every service request from **** Homes since that's who ******** originally contacted to report the issue.  We were always in communication with **** warranty (*******************) and under the impression that they were communicating back to *********

      Explanation of Issue/Leak:
As you may be aware, water travels, and roof leaks are hard to pinpoint unless there is attic access which can assist in tracking exact water entry.  Unfortunately, this home does not have attic access and our technicians tried their best to find the source of the leak on several occasions.  Though not able to find the water entry point, our technicians re-sealed pipes on every visit and checked the entire roof for any cracked or weather related damages to the shingles/roof.

After our fourth attempt (2/2/23), we notified ****’s Warranty department that we did not see anything obvious and asked ******************* if drywall could be removed from the leak area in order to better track the water entry.  He said he would request for drywall to be removed and asked us to go back on 2/10/23.  We also told **** that since four pipes were at the leak area, that we would be removing shingles around them to check for further issues.

We arrived on 2/10/23, removed shingles from all four (4) pipes and noticed a small crack on one of the pipe flashings.  The damage to the pipe flashing was only visible upon the removal of the shingles.  Four new pipe flashings were installed, and new shingles were put back on the area.

We believe the leak is now resolved since ******** has not contacted us back.  We also contacted **** Homes ******************* on 3/3/23 asking **** if ******** had reported any further issues/leaks and he said that he had not heard from him and therefore "all must be fine if he hasn't reported further leaks."

I hope this letter provides sufficient information, if you may have any further questions please contact us at ************.

      Thank you,

      Noble Construction, Inc.

Noble roofing, as a subcontractor to ********** Homes, constructed the roof of a house built in 2019 by ********** Homes. We purchased the house from ********** Homes in December of 2019. In the summer 2021, the roof shingles (Landmark made by ***********) were declared as "manufacture defect". We are wondering, why Noble roofing (supposedly a company with substantial experience) did complete the job with defective shingles. While *********** offered shingle replacement, we are still facing about $20,000 of roof replacement cost. We suggest Noble and ********** Homes provide some help with our roof replacement.

      Hello ****************,

With all due respect to you, your complaint against Noble is not reasonable. The majority of material defects for shingles are not apparent or noticeable at the time of install. Defects or problems with the material often become apparent months or years after the installation when the material becomes exposed to the elements, such as storms, high winds, and ice. In your case, the manufacturer *********** has already acknowledged that the problem with your roof is due to a defect in their material and have issued you a claim number and said they would pay for your replacement. You will need to continue to follow up with *********** for a resolution.

      Thanks

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Shingles don't go bad in 2 years (and no wind or hail damage found by ****** insurance)!  Therefore, we surmise that Noble shingled with shingles (experienced roofer would and should  have seen as suspect) to get the job done, and paid...comes **** or high water for the owner?!

      Regards,
