I purchased a black 2017 Nissan Pathfinder from Car Zone, Inc. I was approved on Car Gurus by West Lake Financial in December 2021. I put a $***** down payment on the vehicle. The owner pushed the 24 month extended warranty on me, so I bought it. When I bought the vehicle, I took it to Pep Boys to get an oil change and during their inspection, they mentioned a few things that was wrong with the vehicle: I paid more money approximately $*** to get more repairs in December. I was told that the alternator needed to be replaced also, I took the vehicle back to Car Zone, Inc. but he said that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. He said that he had his mechanic look it over. He put a batter charger on the vehicle and said that it was fine and that Pep Boys just wanted to get more money out of me. When I would drive the vehicle at night, I could barely see because there was a problem with the electrical. I had the light bulbs replaced by Pep Boys but they still did not work properly. In March 2022, I began to drive the vehicle but it had no power... it could not accelerate. I called the Car Zone, Inc. owner and he suggested that I take it to the dealer and use the extended warranty. I took it to Mechanicsville Hart Nissan. They discovered that the engine and transmission needed to be replaced. The Hart Nissan worker called the extended warranty company used by Westlake Financial. He was told that an inspector would come on site to look at the engine in order to determine what happened to it to determine if they would cover the repairs or not. The Warranty Co needed me to pay $*** to Hart Nissan to take the engine down so the inspector could see the engine and pay another $*** to restore. Even if I had paid this $, I had no assurance that they would of paid the claim. Now, I am stuck with a $*** car payment with no vehicle to drive. I believe that Car Zone, Inc. preys on poor desperate people. I want my down payment back if possible. Bad dealer.
