My car was towed to ****'s after the transmission gave out on the highway. It was very hard to get in touch with the mechanic, I would call multiple times a day and leave a message and would not get a call back. They quoted me $****-**** to replace the transmission, which is thousands higher than any other place around (and yes, the other places provide a year long national warranty). I decided to have my car towed from ****'s to another shop. He charged me $*** for a transmission diagnostic, despite never disclosing this price to me beforehand. This is also hundreds more than any other place around will charge you for a transmission diagnostic. Needless to say I had a terrible experience here. They are not responsive and will try to grossly overcharge you, especially if you are a young woman. I have never had such a negative experience with a mechanic.

We are sorry to hear of ************** complaint in regards to her experience at our facility. As ************** stated, her vehicle was towed in to our facility. No one at this facility has personally met **************, nor has she met any of our employees or come to the business during operating hours. We were unaware that she was a "young woman" until she brought it up on the phone at the time of payment. ************** may very well have had a hard time getting in contact with us. This is a small family owned business with only two mechanics, and an office secretary that comes in two days a week to return phone calls when messages are left and other office duties. The other three days of the week, the two mechanics are simultaneously working on vehicles and helping customers who physically come into the business. In regards to the diagnostics on her vehicle, we are sorry to hear that ************** doesn't feel as though she was treated fairly or that she felt taken advantage of as a "young woman." However, having no prior knowledge of the vehicle (i.e. maintenance records, or other mechanical concerns in the past), ************ had to rule out faults in many other components before determining the transmission was the underlying problem. This process requires both time and diagnostic equiptment. We never implied that diagnostics would be a simple process, or a set price, and ************** also never asked the cost of diagnostics- only the cost of repairs. We use ************************* and stand behind what we install and the services we provide. The transmission quote was with a transmission directly from the manufacturer, parts required for warranty, fluids, and included her diagnostic charge as well. As a smaller business, we may not be able to get parts at the competitively discounted price that corporate shops do. We are very happy to hear that ************** was able to find another shop to complete her work at a price that better fits her needs, and we truly hope that she feels she can trust them for her services for years to come.
