      Wow were to start, Worst experience! Stayed at the The Tides which is only 1-2 years old. Home was struck by lightening and no tv or wifi or entire stay but the last night when they sent a tech to get it working. The tech said Kees was the worst as well. They only wanted to give **** credit for the inconvenience. If I took the **** I would not be allowed to post my experience etc. Beware before booking. We also had dog poo outside on the path to the pool. The home was nice but the management is awful. we spent an entire day waiting for them to send the tech only for the tech to say that Kees was aware they would not make it that day then they came the next day and Kees said they would give them a code but tech said nope they went into a round robin phone tree and ended up leaving. Beware if you have issues they will not try to go above and beyond or even be reasonable to try and fix it. and forget about being compensated fairly. They were also most likely fully ware of this as they told us in a an email prior to our arrival that one of the tvs was not working along with a ceiling fan.

      Ok, now that I have read the numerous reviews here on Kees properties, my blood pressure has gone up even more. Here is our story. We rented Pat’s Foley this past week for 5 days. Aside from a number of mechanical issues with sinks, toilets, blinds, dirty pool area, I thought it could not get worst. Well it did. The mechanical issues were minor compared to the home which was totally infested with roaches. Day 1- my son killed 8-10 roaches. Day 2 he killed another dozed that i was not aware of. Day three- my 2year old granddaughter went to brush her teeth but found a roach on her toothbrush. At this point she was traumatized and wanted to leave the home. We stayed and requested that Kees get a pest control operator in ASAP to treat the property. The only positive thing I can say about Kees is that a person came out and treated the property. Unfortunately for us, treatment takes a few days to take effect. So, our vacation was basically ruined by day 5.
      No one from Kees followed up with us to check on us even though we were led to believe they would. Considering the issue, which some would consider a public health issue, it is startling to me that they took no interest in our situation. Considering the severity of the issue and the lack of follow up led me to write a very accurate but very negative review. I did call the office and blew off steam to their representatives, who complained about my tone. Mind you, I was very upset about my granddaughters reaction and wanting to leave.
      So, i receive a call from a person by the name of Shelby. She immediately told me she did not like the tone of my previous conversation with her staff and that it was unacceptable. She then proceeded to let me know that if I was expecting compensation, I needed to have my negative review taken down.. in her words this was the only way to help solve the problem instead of threatening them with poor reviews and telling them I would consider getting a lawyer.
      I gave up at this point.

      Your party reported the presence of waterbugs on the second-to-last day of your stay. Upon hearing this, our team promptly addressed this concern by engaging pest control services, who confirmed the absence of any roach problem. Despite finding only a few dead bugs, we took the precaution of re-spraying the property. Your concerns were treated with the utmost seriousness.
      The day after your departure, you reached out to express your concerns and compensation expectations. We fully understand that emotions can run high in such situations, but it's crucial to maintain a respectful and constructive dialogue. Our primary goal is to provide a positive and memorable experience for all our guests, and we genuinely aim to assist in resolving the issues you encountered during your stay.
      On October 11, 2023, 6 days after your stay, we extended a compensation offer which, regrettably, did not meet your expectations. We genuinely sought to address your concerns and achieve a fair resolution, and we're deeply disappointed that an agreement couldn't be reached.
      While we acknowledge your dissatisfaction, we firmly believe that we made every reasonable effort to address the concerns you raised during your stay. Our commitment to providing a quality experience for our guests remains unwavering, and we sincerely aim to resolve the situation to your satisfaction. We greatly appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to clarify the timeline and events. Your comments have been shared with the relevant departments to ensure that such issues are promptly addressed and prevented from recurring.

      Roach infested, submitted photos. Refuse to give me refund. Waited over a week no resolution nothing. Was told if I keep calling they will drag their feet and after a week they said no refund after they already told me day one I’ll get a full refund

      I wish there was an option to choose negative stars, because that is what Kees Vacations did for us. The "luxury" property we rented from them was filthy, with 1) several areas that were a safety hazzard and/or completely unusable due to mold, feces and general filth, 2) furniture was in varying levels of broken throughout the home, including both couches in the main living area and 3) several appliances were broken, filthy or unusable. We reported our findings to Kees Vacations immediately because of the health risks associated to some of our family members (aging parent unable to sit on broken furniture and asthmatics affected by high mold levels) upon arrival and communicated with them every day thereafter. They sent a maintenance man after 2 days to replace 2 lightbulbs and then nothing else. My recommendation is to stay as far away from Kees Vacations as a rental company as possible and do not rent any property that they manage. Kees Vacations lacks care of the properties and respect for their paying customer.

      Kees has a very strict cancelation policy. Read it thoroughly before canceling. They will not give you guidance, direction or knowledgeable advice on the cancelation, even if you stand to lose a huge chunk of money. Or even if you rebook through their company. Let the buyer beware.

      We apologize that your experience with KEES Vacations did not meet your expectations. After reviewing your account, we have found that KEES provided you with guidance, direction, and knowledgeable advice, and went above and beyond to assist you with your cancellation.
      During our conversation with you, you confirmed that the cancellation policy and terms of insurance were advertised to you at the time of booking, and that our staff appropriately explained the cancellation and insurance process at the time of cancellation. It was explained your contracted dates would be listed to re-rent. If your originally contracted dates did re-rent you would be eligible for a refund. If the dates did not re-rent, or only partial dates rebooked, you would still be responsible for the original nights that went un-rented. We advised to contact your travel insurance company to file a claim for any lost funds.
      We were able to re-rent several of your dates resulting in a partial refund. We assisted you in filing a claim with the insurance company including sending multiple emails and calling on your behalf. Per your conversations with our team, you informed us the insurance company denied your claim siting it was not an emergency cancellation. It is important to note that we do not have control over what is and is not covered by your insurance policy.
      When speaking with our management staff, you confirmed that all KEES staff you encountered were pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable however unless we refunded you in full you would be posting negative reviews. We expressed our apologies and offered any additional assistance with insurance company but could not offer any additional refund since a fair refund was already processed in accordance with the agreed upon cancellation policy. We understand your frustration, however we did everything we could to assist you in this matter, as you acknowledged in our previous conversations.

      The night we arrived, at the ********* *** **** in Nags Head, NC, the unit had not been cleaned. There was tons of ***** hair all over the sheets, roaches all over the floors, and there was food under the sofas. There was also mold in a corner of the bathroom ceiling, and there were stains all over the floors and furniture. The wifi also didn't work which was falsely advertised that they had it available. I didn't receive a call back from "management" until day 4 of our 5-day stay. This was disgusting. I was issued **** refund out of nearly ****** spent. I am single mom of 3, and this was the first vacation for my family in 6 years. Thanks to Kees, it was ruined. Their "manager", Mechelle, is unprofessional and dismissive. I have proof of everything, and their cleaning crew lied and said nothing was there. I couldn't even get in the unit upon arrival, I had to wait in hold for 20 minutes to get a key code. DO NOT book here. Thievery at its finest and the worst vacation establishment I've ever seen.

      We rented Virginia Dare Trail Nags Head, NC XXXXX from Kees Vacations, which was advertised as "the ultimate vacation residence for the discerning guest. Its supreme attention to detail and spare no expense assumption toward decor and amenities makes this the pinnacle of Outer Banks luxury."
      Don't get suckered in. The photos that Kees shows on its website appear to be from when the house as built. This property was a disaster, beginning with the front door that was so corroded, it had to be forced open.
      The fire pit was inoperable and had been for some time. (The control switch was covered with duct tape." The hot tub only had one jet that worked. Both grills were filthy and one didn't have propane. The lock on the gate to the bench was broken off so it could not be closed. (We had toddlers.) The outdoor cushions had huge rips in them. The outdoor speakers did not work. The lawn that looks plush in photos was weed filled and mostly dirt.
      Inside, we found black mold in the kitchen cabinets above the stove where food was prepared. The towel bar in one bedroom was missing. The theater room was a huge disappointment. It didn't have a DVD player and there was no way to watch a movie. Only two pool cues had tips. The shuffle board table was broken. Upstairs, the kitchen table chairs were filthy and stained. There was a TV remote but it needed to be charged and there was no charger. One of the speakers wasn't connected to the TV. The wine glasses were plastic which didn't matter because there was no corkscrew.
      We arrived on a Sunday and began calling Kees Vacations on Monday. Lots of "oh we're sorry" but no attempt to fix ANY of these issues. We called Tuesday and Wednesday too. Nothing. Instead, all the problems that we experienced were simply passed ** the next guest. We've vacationed in the outer banks for 40 years and never been so disappointed. Avoid Kees and ******** because you will be disappointed
