On 6/11/2021 we signed a contract with Refresh Remodeling to demo our old deck and replace with new one and add on a concrete slab at center of deck stairway. We Financed the project for approximately $15 thousand after finance approve and high interest rate brought total to $35 thousand being financed, which was paid to Refresh to complete the project. Completion of project was to be completed 7/26/2021. Contacted on 12/11/2021 by email from *************************** stating status of project and was told Unfortunately, we are moving pretty slowly with only one crew due to staffing issues. We are continuing to experience significant delays in material shipping and installations. At this point still no deck. On 1/4/22 received another email from *************************** of Refresh filled with more excuses. Approximately Mid February 2022 previous deck gets demolished, large trash container sits on property. Approximately two weeks later wood delivered deck gets started a week later deck completed. We made numerous calls and left messages daily to Refresh and ***************************, we went to office building which was dark. Emailed on 3/5/2022 asking to remove concrete slab from order no response to date. To date project still not complete and no response from company. *************** asking for payments because it has been over a year sense they believe the project was completed and they too have been trying to reach Refresh. Theres no problem paying for deck that was completed but the full project was not completed and full amount financed was giving to Refresh and they are no where to be found. We want the finance company to redo the financing but we are being told that it can not be done by the financing company it has to be done possibly by Refresh modifying the contract removing the contract slab. Refresh remodeling can not be found nor contacted. They just skipped out with money and did not finish the project. We are left with filing a civil suit to try resolve this issue.

This is a predatory company led by scam artists. Contracted in March of 2020 for a garage project with a completion date of August 2020. Job wasn't completed until November 2021. Lied about credentials, skills, and abilities. Final result was a lot of time and money wasted to get an unfinished sub-par product with subcontractors calling me asking for payment. GC took the money and skipped out on paying most of the subcontractors and material providers. They are criminal fraudsters that are destroying the local economy and construction industry in Virginia.

They take money for materials and never do the job!

Refresh Remodeling was paid, but didn't finish the project at my home. They have not responded to my emails, texts or phone calls.

They are not a responsible company. Seems like they are being shady.

We paid Refresh Remodeling $****** 4/01/21 and the check was cashed by Geoffrey C***. We then paid $****** for the plans, and permit 6/1/21. The permit was approved 8/23/21. We had to insist they start the job although they said they wanted to do the job all at once because the trusses were in production. We said just redo the drawing for "stick" build roof and Christina P***** said no, the trusses will be ready by the time the plans are redrawn and resubmitted to the county. We said start the project anyway, so the foundation was dug and the block was laid and the inspection of that work passed 11/2/21. After that NO WORK WAS DONE and no matter how many times we asked and sent emails, there was no time frame given. Then we find out the principal owner Janet T*****l filed bankruptcy 10/15/21 after ABC supply sued them for non-payment of $54,000 (all of this is general information that can be found online). We gave an ultimatum to provide us with a timeline and plan for completion by 1/5/22 without response. We told them by email that we were going to send a demand letter. They sent us the address and we sent a demand letter certified mail. We have also sent them about 5 more emails since then and left two messages. We are connecting with other homeowners with the same story. We are going to file a civil lawsuit to collect $17,000 and also sending a complaint form to the VA DPOR for criminal complaint because their agent Christina Pitman misled us into signing the contract to begin with concerning our shingles to match our existing roof (another story too long to write here). Refresh Remodeling does not deserve the one star but I had to give one star in order to write the complaint.
