Purchased a 2013 Tesla Model S with ~****** miles on 28 October 2022. My salesperson was ****. Please note that prior to buying the car, they had to have it delivered to their ******** location where I bought the vehicle. It is highly likely that the employee who drove it over would have noticed something was wrong with the vehicle.Less than. 24 hours after I purchased the vehicle, I identified a loud rumbling noise at highway speeds and attempted to return the vehicle. The dealer multiple members including ****) replied that they would have their maintenance team look at the vehicle on 31 Oct 22 and work with me on a resolution. On 31 Oct 22 I took the car to the dealer. He informed me that the maintenance team thought the issue was the drive motor needed to be lubricated and he would call me on 3 or 4 Nov to set up a time to have the maintenance team perform the job.I did not receive a phone call on 3 Nov so I called the sales person on 4 Nov and he then informed me that the maintenance team did not feel comfortable performing maintenance on the car and that ***** would need to check it out. He then said I would need to work through the ** on negotiating a settlement. I contacted the ** and he said he would work with me once ***** inspected it.On 10 Nov, ***** checked identified multiple problems with the car including the wheels not being balanced, the bearings needing to be replaced, the axle leaking fluid and an issue with the drive motor. The first three issues would happen on any vehicle and should have been identified by the dealer prior to selling the vehicle. Total cost was over $10,000 for repairs.I contacted the ** on the same day and on the 11 of Nov, the ** replied that the car was sold as is but they would offer $1000. I replied back asking to either trade the car and use the amount I paid for it towards a different vehicle or I offered to split the costs of the repair 50/50 with his company. I never heard back from the **.

We sell all of our vehicles AS-IS, no return, no exchange. Customer agreed and signed all the "AS-IS" documents.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The dealer's response is not acceptable.  Please bear in mind that:

      1.  The dealer either knowingly or negligently sold me a car with issues that they either new about or should have identified.  Wheel bearings, balancing and leaking axles are not unique to a Tesla and an employee drove the car over an hour to the location prior to selling the vehicle to me so they should've known something was wrong as well.

      2.  When I attempted to return the car less than 24 hours after buying it they refused to accept it and instead promised to inspect it and resolve the issue.  They then incorrectly identified the issue and when asked to remedy the situation, refused to do so.

      3.  I offered to split the repair costs with them or trade the vehicle for a different one but they refused those options instead offering less than 10% of the repair costs.

The only thing I agree with the dealer on is that I should have had the vehicle inspected prior to purchasing it.  However, there are a lot of used car dealers who would have adequately resolved this situation, especially since I immediately identified the problem and offered to work with them to resolve it.

Ultimately, if you're reading this, unfortunately you're probably in a similar predicament as I am.  In that case, I would encourage you to file a BBB complaint, a complaint with the *** and a complaint with the ******** Attorney General.  Also, leave reviews reflecting your experience at ************* ***********, ******* and any other site you can find.

If you are considering purchasing from them, make the decision you feel is best for you.

      Regards,

      *********************

I went to Alpha Motorsports to purchase a 2016 Toyota Camry LE. I got the chance to come down to their Fredericksburg location where I looked at the car and it had a few dents as well as scratches to the front and rear bumper. I was initially told that these issues were going to be taken care of at no extra charge. After test driving the car and liking it, I was sat down with one of Alpha Motorsports financial managers who walked me through the price breakdown of the car. The sticker price of the car was $******, which is extremely reasonable for a 6 year old car with 7***** miles on it. When the additional fees were added on, this is where things got questionable. The fee for tag, title, and registration was put on, and Alpha Motorsports also had a processing fee of $***** (which is pretty high considering other dealers I have interacted with have processing fees no more than $***). It was the "reconditioning fee" that was also tagged on to this price that confused me, and brought the total cost of the car to over $******. I asked the financial manager what that fee is and if it was associated with the cleaning and detailing of the car that I was told would be taken care of for free. He said no, it is a separate fee for something else. I asked the financial manager if I could repair any damages with my own mechanic and he insisted that I could not because they have to have their cars "showroom ready" and "ready to sell". However, I believe the car should already be cleaned and detailed before someone comes to purchase it considering this is not a public auto auction. Though I put a down payment on this car, I did not even receive an actual receipt or statement that broke down the pricing of everything for my own records. I do believe Alpha Motorsports is trying to run a good business, but upcharging for something like a reconditioning fee should not be a thing, and would kindly ask for that fee to be removed please.

We sell all of our vehicles "AS-IS" and we offered Mr. ******** to purchase extended warranty, which he refused, and also we allow customers to do a pre purchase inspection or bring their own mechanic to check the vehicle prior of purchasing the vehicle.

      Thanks

Vehicle was sold "AS-IS '' and customer drove the vehicle more than 6,000 miles. We offered to buy back the vehicle and we offered to help her out but she involved a lawyer and once a lawyer is involved then we have to involve our lawyer. Why she agreed to "AS-IS"Sale and now after driving the vehicle 6,000+ miles she is holding us responsible.

      Thanks

I began the process of purchasing a car from Alpha Motorsports on 8/7/21. The purchase price listed was ******* and this is what was discussed with Jason. I went to dealership on August 14th to purchase vehicle Waited for the paper work to be done and I dealt with John it was identified that my Social Security number was incorrect, he had to fix, still incorrect. When I went back in sales office I did not have my glasses and I asked John if it was the same deal he advised yes and I trusted that scenario and signed the papers. When I drove home to and could actually review the paperwork the sale price was actually ********** * ********  sales tax vehicle price was *********, I called and asked the breakdown of that price and how that number was established and could not get an answer, I was told that the ******* was the cash price but the financed price was ******* .
