6 months ago this company came out to replace a culvert pipe. After the job was done the driveway over the Culvert continue to settle. The company came out a couple of times to add more gravel but it continued immediately to settle more. I was assured via email that once I completed payment that they would come out again as needed to add more gravel as the area continue to sink. I waited several months to make sure it had stopped and then requested more gravel to be added. The operations manager **** ******* refuses. This job had cost $3,400Business response

This contract was written to use existing materials for backfill for the pipe replacement, but we used stone around it as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately the material around the pipe is a mix of a surface treatment (macadam) and a stone over a surface treatment. We had used a 57 stone for the backfill, which is a clear graded (no fines) stone with an average size of about 3/4".Upon investigating the complaint it was clear to me that it was not settling, but the stone was "rolling out" from under tires creating a small depression in the area of the tire lanes. There was no evidence of settlement around the pipe nor in the roadbed. Most likely due to the difference in materials along the driveway, it appeared to be settling on the surface. To remedy the situation I discussed with the client that we would replace the top 3 inches of stone with a gradation matching that over the surface treatment which had fine material to "lock in" the aggregate better. She agreed that that made sense in regard to the explanation and it would be a satisfactory solution. This was completed on 6/24. We would like to stress again that the basis of the contract was to reuse existing materials, so all the stone is actually additional cost to us as a goodwill gesture.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. Regards, ***** *******
