In April 2021 I had a routine eye exam and was charged $39 which I paid. They billed me again and warned that I would be sent to a collection agency if I didn’t pay it so I paid $39 again. After reviewing my bank statement I realized that I’d paid this bill twice. I have contacted them 4 times to no avail. I would appreciate my $39 because I’m on a fixed incomeBusiness response

This is hands down the worst facility I have ever dealt with. First of all you are NEVER supposed to touch a person's eye lid with a dropper! Neither is anyone except the licensed doctor supposed to conduct your exam. Blurred vision was my reason for this visit. The prescription issued is weaker than my current prescription but only in one eye, my vision is equally bad and has been for many years. Lastly I scheduled an EYE EXAM then I got charged $95 for a "contact lens fitting" which is a bogus charge for the fully insured which I have never been charged before from any other eye doctors in the several years that I have been seeing them. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They need to be shut down.Business response

Thank you for your feedback- patient experience is important to us. Unfortunately, we do not create the billing rules for insurances and cannot decide what is a covered service by insurance vs. patient responsibility. We follow all contract requirements as dictated by insurance payors. Patients can access their insurance coverage information from their payor website or call the number on the back of their insurance card. We continue to take steps in training our staff and offering the best patient experience possible. I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My insurance has covered every eye appointment for the past six years including the one I had Monday November 8th 2021. The charge that your facility is claiming is not covered under insurance is a false charge. Your office claimed I owed nothing until I asked for copies of the prescriptions then all of a sudden this false charge appears. Also both prescriptions were WRONG and if I had used them for anything it would have severely damaged my eye sight. So how many people are falling for this bogus company and their false money hungry charges while simultaneously worsening their eye sight at the hands of liars. Unlike most people I have had vision issues for 23 years thus why your SEVERAL mistakes were caught. YOUR pathetic excuse of a facility took my money and tried to worsen my eye sight. I will not stop until something is done about it. No one deserves this type of treatment. To have your O.A's conduct an entire (******** ******) of an eye exam excluding crucial parts like checking for astigmatism and color changes is appalling. Then to proceed to write out wrong prescriptions and create charges while claiming it's the insurance is ridiculous. Your facility is not an exception to insurance coverage. That means if someone's insurance covers the entire examination CONTACTS AND EYE GLASSES AND VISION ALIKE including copies of prescriptions, EVERY SINGLE YEAR, then it would have been covered at your facility, hence the false charge and information you are giving out to patients at your establishment. I've inquired about this to my regular optometrist and I know that this is your wrong doing not insurance. My next step will be a lawyer. Regards, ***** *******Business response
