Dear BBB, this is a case that definitely deserves some attention. It covers a business being bought over by another company, the original business owner still being a part owner and yet failing to abide by a contract. In July 2019 the AC System was installed by Airbenders. The quote is attached with the labor warranty mentioned in the last two pages I believe. I have also attached the **** Extended Warranty certificates. It was chosen because they offered a 10 year parts and labor warranty on the system. We specifically chose this because of the warranty. The system's indoor motor broke on March 17th 2022. I called Airbenders who are still listed on ****'s website. The technician diagnosed it as a broken motor and mentioned that he had to present me with a few options to fix the thing. Then he presented on an iPad four options ranging from $1900-$4500 with the lowest option being the work was guaranteed for 30 days. The documents I have provided show the warranty. Upon calling the business they said that AirBenders had been bought out by *** and they "did not buy their liabilities" *******, who is mentioned in one of the attachments is the "part owner" and claimed that I was threatening her instead of solving the issue. My question to her, to which she felt threatened by was if you buy a business don't you have an obligation to do due diligence on their liabilities? She referred me to a **** authorized dealer in Sterling VA which turned out to be a non starter as well. So as I write this. Its still 48F I have no heat. No AC so to speak because the motor is blown according to the tech that came from Airbenders/***. No solution to a mess that was created by this business "being bought over by another company" and the part owner of the new business being the same person who is on the correspondence since the day of the install.
