Fred S****** runs this business. If I could, I'd give it a Zero, as one star is too much for him. He is the worst business person I've dealt with in my 75 years on this earth. Oak flooring (960 sq. feet) was installed in my Ashburn, VA home, August 2018 - in the dining room, living room, hallway, and in the bedroom - all on our first floor (bought the home 8/2018, and before moving in, replaced the previous owners carpeting with oak wood flooring). Not Fred's fault, but the wood proved to have powder post beetle infestation 2 and 1/2 years later (I hired a professional Pest Inspector, and he found 33 areas of infestation). Wood guaranteed for life, but the labor was not. Starting June 1st of 2021, while talking to Fred on the phone, I sent via email photos of the bug damage (as I was in AZ on vacation) my house manager found throughout our home. Fred said, "Give me a day or two, and I'll get back to you". Nothing for a week. Called again a week later. Fred said, "Can't talk, will call you right back". No calls back. Returned to VA from AZ July 3. Went in person to see Fred July 6th. No apologies - no calls - no emails - nothing from him for a whole month. Said, "We have a problem. The oak wood flooring is covered under a l Life Time Warranty but the labor isn't". He then stated - "Will let you know via email by next Friday (ten whole days - July 16th) my resolution of the labor cost installation". Guess what - no email! So I visit Fred again in his store ten days later, and because of my sour attitude, he didn't want HIS people doing the installation, and wanted me to get a contractor on my own and pay them, and he would reimburse me - (as if I could trust him at his word?) (You would have a sour attitude also, if you were in my shoes dealing with him). My real estate agent that recommended Fred 3 years ago got involved in this mess, as she felt some responsibility (I've known her for 33 years). She negotiated with Fred for the labor cost payment - he at first agreed to pay @ $4000 for the work, then did an about face and only wanted to pay $2800 - and my real estate lady friend was going to pay the difference of $1200 out of her own pocket. Well, the new replacement wood finally showed up July 30th. Fred went in person to deliver a check for the new wood installation August 3 to another flooring company I choose - the FULL amount. New flooring installed August 10,11- 2021. The beetle infestation was worst than the Pest Inspector found, as many areas of the damage did not show up on the surface - and I have videos to prove it - the beetles turn the oak wood into sawdust. I had contacted another flooring company, and in their proposal for installation, I had them put in the proposal, 'Payment in Full before work starts'. Fred wanted to pay half up front, and half after completion. Well, what matters here, you can not accept anything FRED says as truthful. I can not for the life of me, see how this man stays in business. When I first contacted him about this bug mess, he could/should have said - "I'm sorry this has happened, and as a previous customer, I will take care of this and fix the problem, since the wood has a Lifetime Warranty". Well, 2 months and 11 days later, my wife and I have new flooring - but what an ordeal.Review from Cliff
