I scheduled an appointment for a safety recall and service a few weeks prior to the appointment. I called to confirm the appointment with the safety recall three days prior to the service. Some additional services were performed, but the safety recall was not performed nor was I informed at any point during the process that it would not be completed. I am a repeat Honda owner with experience at several dealerships. Honda cooperate customer service passed that they are prioritizing cars with safety issues first. Perfectly understandable, but it should be standard practice to inform the customer during the process or not let them schedule the recall in the first place.

Sure the $30, $40, $50k new Hondas are nice--and you'll get the same sales experience here (knowledgable, nice, but this isn't BMW, amenities, though most you pay for) than any other Honda dealer (minus the haggling), but Sheehy, as a brand, does value/ under $10k, $12k very very well! Most dealers don't offer a (/n actually decent) warranty, return policy, financing/ rates, or recondition their cars at this price range like Sheehy does (though their processing fee is extremely high IMO.) VIP membership is reasonably priced but doesn't cover Maryland inspection or engines over 50k miles (which I'd guess all Value vehicles are.). Put *anything* out of place or that needs to be fixed on a "We Owe"--you can negotiate repairs and accessories but not the price or VIP). Given the proximity to Sheehy stores and Volvo service pricing, probably should have opt'd into VIP for that one. I've bought 2 cars and helped another 3 family/ friends all buy cars from Sheehy and all had straight forward experiences and chose Sheehy for their quality standard (again, not BMW) and Carmax-like experience and pricing policy (for less!). Only 1 had a mechanical problem which was fixed under their 30 day/ 1k-mile warranty (most dealers only cover 50% and/ or have a deductible--Sheehy is 100/100 and $0, respectively). I've never sold/ traded a car to Sheehy, so I can't comment there. Thanks to Kevin, George, and Rob at Sheehy Honda!

Unfortunately, I recently took my car to get some work done at the dealership. I had been having issues with my brakes and needed it fixed. I should have known better about trusting the $200 diagnostic fee, I really should have just went to autozone. I was then quoted that getting a leak in my front left axle fixed, a wheel bearing fixed, and my ABS sensor fixed would be $2,500. Now I’m not a car guy but I had a feeling I was being taken on a ride. I then proceeded to call various different shops in the area and found places that would do the same exact job for as low as $700. Not really sure how they came up with that extra $1,800. Obviously I got the work done elsewhere but unfortunately lost out on my $200 for the diagnostic. As a lower enlisted member of the US Navy I don’t exactly get paid that much. When I asked if they had a military discount, they somehow got the price down to $1,900. Still, $1,200 above what I was quoted elsewhere. Can’t say I’ll be recommending this place to any of my fellow service members, ever. Just go get your work done somewhere else.

Part 2/2 So we drove from Richmond to Alexandria. Waited an hr before we were given a car to drive. The first loaner was a jeep that after 20 min of driving the transmission had issues, they the Mazda I test drove on Friday that still had grinding breaks. I reached my limited so I decided to return the Subaru Forester & wanted my Subaru Impreza back ASAP. Kevin stated that the Subaru was already sent to auction and they had to call in the morning. But at soon as my bf stated, "Isn't it funny how it is still with in the 5 day window for her to decide to keep the new car and they are quick to sell the other" They quickly found the my car (Impreza) in the back! I went to check it out and found to sitting outside with it running and unlocked for anyone to steal with the registration missing! I got the plates transferred over after telling them again. They honored the 5 day money back guarantee but when I asked for confirmation now to ensure everything was cancelled I got push back again. Kevin stated I will receive something in the morning of the cancels sale. I requested a document with signature of the cancellation as a placeholder. They went to their computers to find something, staying he could send a email. I stated, 'we haven't been difficult, so I should get this ask" I received the email confirmation and left. We did not leave until almost 8 and we got there around 5:40pm. I'm so glad I trusted my gut after the second "rental" but I'm pissed I wasted so much time and effort working with that location. I thought going through a well known dealer would be different from a "mom and pop" dealer but they are all the same. Be careful out there, see the signs!

Would not recommend this company to anyone. Was extremely appalled at the lack of customer services throughout the company. I will not be returning and will make sure that my review is placed on every reviewing site I can locate. My 2018 Honda Accord’s dashboard had been displaying a number of services notifications such as “Brake System Problem and Electric Power Steering System Problem”. It would take several attempts to start up. I contacted AAA but by the time they arrived the car had started by itself and they tested my battery. They indicated my battery was in great condition but when the problem continued, I brought it a local Honda service shop. Instantly, I was told the issues was my battery. I was told a diagnostic test would be ideal. After leaving my car for service, I was called and informed that the diagnostic test would be performed after the replacement of the battery because the batter was too weak. I was also told that the price of the diagnostic test would go towards my service charge. Only to return to pick up my car with a $400 bill. I inquired why was my bill so high and why wasn’t the $150 from the diagnostic test adjusted to my bill, he indicated the a system update needed to be performed and that is not a part of the battery. Meanwhile, I had a BCM SOFTWARE UPDATE AS PER TSB PEFORMED BCM UPDATE at the same shop March of 2021. This is yet another example of auto shops taking advantage of vulnerable people during the holidays. This is often geared towards women and elderly, using unclear verbiage and overcharging. Logically, if a battery is not functioning, how could it properly update a system. The two correlate in my eyes. The mere fact, that you couldn’t conduct a diagnostic test until the battery was replaced, indicated they depend on one another. Not to mention, when I dropped off my car I had to ask about drop off service. This wasn’t offered to me. I was told that there was a 25 minute to 30 minute wait. I was told to sit in the waiting area and when the driver returns, I would be notified. While waiting I saw two mean walking around within my 30 minutes wait and after. It wasn’t until I saw another man inquiry about drop off service to the receptionist and she redirected the man to the two men that were walking around. I followed the customer towards the men and then my service man yelled for the men to drop me off too. He had never informed them that I was awaiting drop off service. I literally could have been home and back 4 to 5 times in that duration. While waiting an elder lady inquired about coupons. She mentioned that she had not received any coupons in the mail. The same service man literally was passive aggressive toward the lady. He actually manipulated her. He expressed that coupons are sent via email. The elder lady indicated that she does not have an email or access to the internet. When she continued to ask for a resolution, he expressed to her that he does not believe any coupons went out recently. The lady stood firm and indicated that in previous years she received coupons in the mail and had not received anything as of lately. The man asked her for her mailing address, to add her to the mailing list. She was excited and provided her the address. After she walked off, the man tossed the paper from the counter top towards the desk below and walked off smirking. He literally told her what she wanted to hear and really did not have any intentions in assisting her. The billing lady laughed at his actions. Fast-forward to be coming back hours later to pick up my car with a $400 bill. Did he tell me the $150 would go towards my bill, knowing that he was just going to add that service to the additional service to rack my bill up. This is not ok and I want a manager to call me immediately.

We went to Sheehy when we were in a bad situation and in need of a new car. Our Subaru needed some work done and we didn't think it was the right financial decision to go through with the work. We decided to get a new car. We were under some financial constrains (single income military with 2 young kids) so we could only spend so much per month on a car. We got an offer from Carvana for our used Subaru for over $3600. Sheehy INSISTED that we would not get that money from Carvana. They told us that our Subaru was not worth more than $1000 and that they wouldn't even be able to sell it. They said they would either scrap it or send it to auction. They then told us they would "do us a favor" by offering us $1500 for it, but it really wasn’t worth that because it cannot be sold. We took their word for it because they kept acting like they wanted to help us out. We shouldn't have. It was ALL A LIE! They now have our used Subaru listed under their used cars for almost $10,000! If we knew they were just lying to our faces we would have sold the Subaru to Carvana and bought a new car elsewhere. We were really relying on that extra money from the trade in as a down payment. Instead we had to pull $6000 from our savings to use as a downpayment to get our monthly payments where we needed them to be. That was $6000 we couldn’t afford to spend. My mother in law now has to pay for my daughter to go to preschool so that we don’t have to stress as much over the car payments! I get this is "business" but that does not make them good people. They also told me the car would be $3000 above MSRP because of the supply shortage. Now I'm thinking that was probably a lie as well. You cant trust anything these people say! They will act like they want to help you and do you a favor, all to screw you and get more of your money! We are disgusted and feel completely used!
