            We were recently scammed by a Utah licensed contractor who started a deck/awning project, then took our money and has not been unavailable since 9/14/2023. We provided two separate deposits, totally over $18000, more than 90 percent deposit. The deck is partially completed. The first deposit was $10867, and the second deposit was $7500 was requested by the contractor on Aug 25, which I hand-delivered to the contractor on Aug 26. The contractor claimed that he needed the second deposit to pay for materials for the awning, but we have yet to see any materials or work done to the awning. When I asked the contractor to return the second deposit, he refused. We have a signed contract to complete the deck and awning in approximately 2 weeks, which occurred in the week of Aug 14, 2023. The contractor was only available to do work intermittently and always making excuses for not be able to do the work on our project. Homeowners should not be victimized by dishonest, fraudulent contractors.

            Owner, ****** *******************, uses Jays Decking as an LLC to lure in clients and steal their money. He has a history of deceit, theft, bankruptcy. As his victims can attest, ****** ******************* is unskilled and unqualified to perform any trade. He cant build decks. He cant build shelves. He cant even paint. But ****** ******************* can spin lieslike theres no tomorrow. ****** ******************* is a conman. Hes already conned payday money lenders. Construction is just his latest scheme. ****** ******************* is a malignant sociopath. Whats next, ******* Robbing the elderly?
