    We met with Hot Shot Sprinkler at the Home Show in March 2022 and prepaid $149.00 to have an evaluation of our yard. The owner met with us and provided multiple options for our yard. A comprehensive overhaul for over $30,000 to as simple as replacing the rotors for near a $1,000. My wife and I discussed the options and decided to have the rotors replaced only as we are planning to move. When several of Hot Shot Sprinklers workers came out we told him of our rotor replacement option The field worker refused this option and tried to up sell by replacing the valves for $15,000. When I mentioned that the owner hadn’t suggested this and our difficulty in understanding the worker we asked him to review our bid. I trusted the owners education and experience, not a field worker. We spent at most 20 minutes with them. We have never received any written communication from Hot Shot Sprinklers nor statements. They have called me twice asking for different amounts, but I expressed my concern that we never received any bids or breakdown of costs and the owner gave us a list of options Five days ago we were contacted by a collection agency, and they provided the only statement. The date of the statement is June 2022, yet further on the statement are late charges for Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov and December 2022. There are four charges for calls and a late fee. If Hot Shot Sprinkler could call but never reply to our requests and we never received any written nor emails for statement, how can we be responsible for charges. On their work order it says in bold letters “PAYMENT IS DUE UPON COMPLETION” but what work has been completed? We prepaid to have an evaluation and options that was required before the owner met with us. I feel Hot Shot Sprinkler business policy of refusing work we asked for, trying to up sell and never providing a bid and cost breakdown, never sending statement or addressing our questions about our account are poor business practices and fraudulent.

    Most dishonest company I have ever hired. I had ~$1,800 in irrigation repair work completed at my home by hot shot. I paid the complete invoice with one of the workers upon completion of the work. A few days later (after the payment posted to my credit card account) I received a second invoice for the full amount plus hot shot had added an additional ~$350 in service charges. I assume this is standard practice for hot shot to add additional service/hours when they don't realize the customer has already seen/paid the real invoice created by the workers. They had also included a fee for the original estimate/house call ($189) even though they had promised that fee would be credited back to me for any future work. Further, the invoices both included charges for 6 auto drains when I only had 4 installed. Fraudulent is a strong word, but it is warranted after seeing hot shot send a new invoice after full payment was already received, add service/repair charges after the fact, charge for parts that were never installed, charge for an estimate that was promised to be credited.
