Skabelund Roofing was actually referred to me by my son who he had done a favor for but had not used Skabelund for his roof. His price was competitive enough but the quality of his work would get a D from me. Yes, I have new shingles on my roof (too bad they are not the color we agreed on in their showroom. My neighbor had just got his roof replaced a few months before (not by Skabelund) and I was amazed at how quickly they removed and replaced their shingles. Each day when I looked over, I couldnt believe how clean everything was. When I talked to my neighbor he told me that the roofing company left his place as clean as it was before they started. You should not expect this from Martin Skabelund roofing. The exterior of our house was / is marked up from the shingles being thrown off the roof hitting just about everything. My white PVC railings on my front porch look terrible. Additionally, I now have a number of oil stains on my driveway from their equipment. There is one place on the back of my home where an awning actually attaches to the roof. When I saw the horrible condition they left it in, the owner came, did his own repair and told me that was the best he could do and that the marks on my house and surroundings (as well as the mess - pieces of shingles, nails etc should be expected when getting your roof replaced (funny, that didnt happen at my neighbors). I couldnt live with the pathetic attempt at fixing the roof at my awning and fixed it myself (after having to go purchase a bundle of shingles since they didnt leave a single spare shingle. My wife and I spent several hours over the last three days cleaning up what they left. My purpose in writing this review is to warn anyone considering Martin Skabelund Roofing of what they should expect. Our entire experience has been horrible.

I whole-heartedly recommend ***** Skabelund's roofing company! They went above and beyond my expectations of tearing down a nightmare roof and creating an esthetically pleasing roof! What really impressed me was ***** came right over to give me an estimate as soon as I called. He was professional, explained the process and the extra costs if the *** needed to be replaced. I felt really good about ******* visit. I called ************** and told ******* I'd like them to replace my home's roof and put on a shingle roof. A date was set and the billing explained to me. Very impressive.Though I had been concerned abt the roof before the purchase of this home, I was told that the roof was good. It wasn't until the teardown begun that it was learned there was FOUR layers of shingles n shakes! The legal limit? Two. Now, on to the best part - ******* team!From the hardworking roofers who tore this mess off and hauled it to their trailer (at least 3 dump runs!!!) and those who created now a safe and sound roof and all the workers who created such a beautiful, eye-catching roof, I say, "THANK YOU!" From ******* and Corryn, in the office, managing the calls and emails, to the last day where *******, **************************** put the finishing touches on the roof, many, many thanks!A special shout out to Mackay and ******* for solving all the problems that laid hidden as the roofing progressed! All the kindnesses and genuine concern for my concerns were first and foremost in their words and actions. I was amazed at their commitment to making sure this roof was stellar! These men may be gentle-spoken but their commitment in making this the best roof ever for this house speaks volumes. Excellent team, excellent work! Thank you, ***** Skabelund!!
