I had a poor experience dealing with this company. I was sold a certain number of panels with a guarantee that it would cover the power my home, but $15,000 later, it does not. I now have a monthly solar loan payment and an electric bill. Though I love that I am using clean energy, ****'s sales rep definitely was misleading about the costs. Also, **** had a long delay in getting things done and getting permits and giving me any updates. Communication was rather poor all aroundI found myself calling in to understand where things were at in the process and asking for updates and knowing when people would be showing up at my house. There was a 3 month delay where the panels were installed but not turned on. Elan still owes me a reimbursement for those 3 months but for over a year and a half have pushed that off, saying they are "backed up" in reimbursements. I have a feeling this company is not going to be around for very long.Review from Seth J

TLDR: Horrible customer experience. I sued and they lost. They refuse to pay the court order.Recommendation: DO NOT USE ELAN SOLAR. My experience: In Aug-22 the solar panels were installed on my roof. They installed the panels without having a permit from the city to do so. They then messed up the paperwork to have the system inspected which delayed the process. They failed the first inspection and then failed the second inspection. I was calling them everyday to get them to do their jobs but they continually lied to me. They told me that theyd fix the issues and gave me specific dates that theyd perform the work, but they never did it. They also told me that theyd reimburse the payments on the panels but they later refused to. They finally passed the inspection in Feb-23. The system was eventually turned on in April-23. It took over 240 days from system installation to the panels being turned on. Since this is completely outrageous I sought a remedy with the company. I was told that theyd do a partial reimbursement, but it would take 1.5 months to process. They never cut the check and I went to follow up again, they again told me that it would take a month to give me the check. I told them in this meeting that if I was not paid by the deadline I would take them to small claims court. I sued them. They lost in court and I was awarded a judgement. To this day they have not paid a penny. Their response is to continually say that "attorneys will handle the situation." No one will speak to me and no one will honor any commitment.Review from James M

On 12/17/2022 I entered a purchase and installation agreement with Elan Solar. This agreement was for an enphase encharge 10W Standalone Battery including labor, installation and materials.My Wife and I gave a check for the full amount of ****** dollars. Elan Solar had an issue with their customer service line, so I went to their **** office. And I met with *****************************. I was told the project manager, was expecting a conference call two days later and that they would call back with the results. I never received a call back with status of my order. This meeting occurred approximately six months after Elan Solar received our check. After nine months I again contacted Elan Solar by phone message and text. The last text sent by ***************************** was "We are working on getting your project ready for completion." At the time of this review, it's been 9 months and 19 days since we entered into this agreement. With still no update on status or a timeline for completion.Review from ARTS

** 2020, Elan Solar installed panels on my home and my next door neighbor's. Both of us had numerous problems at that time including delays and not passing inspection more than once, both problems mentioned in other reviews. 3 years later and after a big winter we realized how bad this company is. Due to improper installation my solar system could not handle the heavy snowfall. Complete tracks were torn out of our roof (causing leaks into our living room and through our porch roof), conduit was completely torn out of the roof and bent IN HALF because they didn't install according to manufacturer instructions for high snow fall areas (the panels were not installed vertically, there weren't enough anchors, they were installed behind a large tree that shaded them, and installed on a new asphalt roof that was recommended by Elan). I now have 7 of 39 panels that are shattered and 4 tracks that are bent. My next door neighbor has 2 of 14 shattered panels for the same reason. There are many homes in my areas with solar arrays and NO ONE else has issues. Only ours were installed by Elan Solar. Now, they will not address their warranty and poor workmanship. They won't reply to me nor provide me the name and number of a supervisor. All I know is that there is someone named ***** who is the installation ******* and was in charge of the installation of our panels in 2020. There is also someone named ***************************** who is in a leadership position. When I call them, no one answers. When I email, no one, not even a new customer service agent, ************ (that is how she signs her name...is she trying to preserve anonymity?? It's not an AA meeting, it's a business!), will reply. Neither by text, phone message, nor email will anyone share with me a supervisor name and number. No one will discuss their warranty with me either. The entry level people are instructed to not share supervisor information or reply to warranty questions. I emailed Ms. Martinez personally and she actually got back to me and shared her phone number. The I called number provided and it was disconnected. There was a person who came out, UNANNOUNCED on a day that I am typically not home. No supervisors or schedulers called me about this visit and what this person would do. The worker said I had to file a claim with the manufacturer. I asked if they could at least connect the system and they said that their boss would not let them. I filed the claim with the photos and serials numbers provided by the technician who came out. The manufacturer denied the claim about a week later saying that "N-Peak modules have a maximum load rating of +7000Pa (146lbs/ft²) on the front and -4000Pa (83.5lbs/ft²) on the back. I see that your modules were installed in a portrait orientation and it’s typically recommended to install modules in landscape orientation in high snow load areas." That there should have been no issue with the snow.Review from Craig H

We had ********************** 2/17/2022 and then another 7 panels added in 4/8/2022. System was turned on 5/23/2022. Since 5/26/2022 we contacted the 5 times before a tech came out to complete the install.We have never seen a benefit from having solar as each month I still get an electric bill. I have contacted support, the **** the *** and our salesman multiple times. The salesman has quit as well as the tech. Is this business closed? How do we get service?Who bonds them?Review from James L

We signed in early November and were promised that our panels would be installed in December 2021. Even to actually get it installed we had to push them multiple times. I felt like we were managing the project and not the solar company. They installed the system on January 4, 2022. The technicians did not say much to us other than when they told us they were finished. They reassured us that it was all good to go and would start showing the solar power gained once it synced with the hub. After a week or so I called and let them know that it was not working. We were told that we needed to have it inspected by ************** before it could be activated. It took us till March 4th to finally get someone out to us(Not because they were booked, but because they were unreliable in scheduling it). We also got a nice email from our HOA saying that nothing had been filed to them about our Solar install even though they said they would take care of that. It wasn't until August 18th that we finally got it working. Every time that we were able to actually get Elan Solar to come out before August, there would end up being a problem that they couldn't solve now and they would have to get back to us. This has been a horrible experience and has really hurt me and my family. We were promised a check when the system was sold to us to cover the first 6 months which we still have yet to receive and promised reimbursement of the power bill we had to pay on top of our solar payments, but we haven't received that either. We have followed up and been promised that we would be taken care of, but now they don't even answer their phones.Review from Craig P

They came and installed the panels on the roof but have not connected them to tge grid. They set up a time without telling us for the power company to come to our home for the final install after 3 months of the panels being on The roof. We were home that day, which is the only way we found out. Elan solar never showed up, the power company guy was at our home for 9 hours with our power off waiting for them. We called, and emailed to no response. I have called dozens of times and sent more emails over the last month since, with still no response. I'm just at a loss for words, we are being charged for the panels that are producing nothing but also still paying our full power bill.Review from Nathalie O

Overall, Elan Solar was great. The promised timeline was not accurate and I am not sure who to blame. I think it would be **** Power, but I would also expect **** to stay on top of **** Power to get what they needed **********. It doesn't appear Elan did that. But otherwise, the communication was great, the installation went smooth and getting the meters and all going after installation was timely and smooth. I went with Elan because I liked how their panels are all black and blend in well with my roof. No white lines in the panels that stand out. Would go with **** again.
