On 12/14/21 I received a charge for $18.99 from CMS who I had never knowingly done business with on a debit card that is mine. Because CMS is a Utah company my bank failed to flag it as fraudulent however the charge memo gave no inkling of why I was being charged by them and I believe was attempting to confuse me into accepting the charge because the charge memo included the date 12/10/21 even though the charge was from 12/14/21 and was process before I was even awake. I am confident this is not a mistake on my part because I only use this debit card to pay for my insurance bill and a Spotify subscription neither of which has caused this kind of problem. My bank is helping to adjust the billing and so I am not seeking financial compensation however I want this company to be held accountable for their fraudulent actions.Business response

Our business, Complete Merchant Solutions assist merchants with accepting credit card payments. We have been informed a bank descriptor, which appears on a credit card statement, incorrectly listed our business name and not the merchants; resulting in the transaction not being recognized by the consumer. We emailed the consumer, ***** as summarized below, but we have not received his response.

I was made aware of the BBB submission that you provided and wanted to reach out to you personally. I apologize for the unexpected deduction from your bank account and have investigated it thoroughly. With the help of your screenshot, I was able to find that the transaction originated with [Merchant Name]. This store is located at [Merchant Address]. The $18.99 was a purchase made on your card ending in XXXX. Can you confirm that the last four digits of your card are XXXX?
