I opened an account with ********************************************* On March 9th and was excited to begin using the platform as my mentor raved about them. After opening the account I was locked out within a day or two before even sending in my bank credentials. Every time I called I was verified and given very little info on what the hold up was or why I was locked out. Fast forward to me trying to login a week later and still received the same error message and to call. I have been on the phone with several representatives multiple times this week alone just to be given the run around. Today I received a text stating that the account was closed with no further information. I once again called in to get clarification and was told it was a "business decision" and that no further information could be given. What kind of stellar customer service is this supposed to be? Browsing through these complaints shows that this seems to be the go to for this company. What kind of discriminatory practices are being used? How do you flag an account for "fraud" but do not communicate with the customer to verify item(s) in question? I have never in my life been flagged for "fraud" and I am extremely offended and even more suspicious of them when they could not offer any valid reasons behind the decision.Review from Patricia T

My account was transferred from Ameritrade and I was charged without my permission. Why should I have to pay? No response when I contacted the company. This is a scam of a company.Review from Travis B

Charles Schwab has this unbelievable faade about how they care about their clients but how they treat their employees is almost like a **********. In addition they barley hire people of color and transitions of the hire *** from VPs are money hungry and put their employees through massive stress and lack of empathy. I would not recommend you being your business here nor continue investing your accounts with this company.Review from Craig R

Charles Schwab is not a safe custodian of your assets. After purchasing TD Ameritrade Schwab promptly declared that the stocks in my account are abandoned property and sent them to the State. By law Schwab must contact the owner before doing this and they did not. They have my phone number on file and did not call or leave a voicemail at all. The State already sold off my stocks at a price much lower than theyre worth today. Not only that but Im going to be stuck paying capital gains so there no way to possibly buy the stocks back even if they went back down. This is absolutely the worst brokerage firm I have ever dealt and its only been 6 months. Absolutely insane and illegal behavior.Review from jagjit c

I had an account with TD ameritrade for more than 10 years and never had a problem with them. Since Schwab took over I have been repeatedly unable to log in to my account. Today I tried to talk to their representative but was given a runaround and he hung up besides not being helpfula.Review from Stephen D.

ON JAN 16 OF THIS YEAR ICALLED THE 800 XXX-XXXX PHONE NUMBER TO OPEAN A SCHWAB ONE BROKERAGE ACCOUNT. THE PERSON I SPOKE TO IDENTIFIED HIMSELF ******. I EXPLANED TO ****** THAT I HAD A BROKERAGE ACCOUNT WITH THEM MANY YEARS AGO AND I WOULD LIKE NOW TO OPEN A SCHWAB ONE BROKAGE ACCOUNT. ****** ASKED WHAT MY PREVIOUS ACCOUNT NUMBER WAS. I TOLD HIM. HE THEN ASKED WHAT MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WAS , I TOLD HIM. HE THEN STATED MY SSN AND ACCOUNT NUMBER DID NOT MATCH AND HE WOULD GIVE THIS INFORMATION TO THE PEOPLE WHO INVESTIGATE THESE THINGS. HE ALSO STATED HE COULD NOT OPEN MY NEW ACCOUNT UNTIL THIS ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. ****** STATED I SHOULD RECEIVE A CALL WITHIN A FEW DAYS AND IF I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL HE WOULD CALL ME. ITS NOW GOING ON 4 WEEKS, NO CALLS NO ACCOUNT.Review from Harold B

An inexplicable and inexcusable Schwab administrative error that placed a restriction on and thus prevented my Schwab taxable account from receiving the 2023 *** from my Schwab **** nearly causing me to.miss the *** deadline of 23/29/2023. Schwab never even bothered to notify me of the restriction, which was placed in effect in June 2023. When I tried desperately to get help from Schwab in having the restriction lifted, I was told no one qualified to do so was available until.the opening pt business on 12/29. I then attempted to contact both.my Schwab advisor and the responsible branch manager by e-mail, both to.no avail..I then solved the problem by transferring the *** proceeds to an external checking account. A complaint I filed subsequently with the manager of the Schwab Client Advocacy Team resulted in nothing but excuses, dismissals of Schwab culpability and cavalier customer service.Review from Lee K

Charles Schwab has multiple trading platforms. They are aware that I used Smart Street Edge which they took me off of when I wanted to complete my transaction. I attempted to buy the stock to close my short position. The trade help desk did not care and said its my problem as I should know that Smart Street Edge was no longer in use. This is false as I used it earlier this week. The company took me off the server that points to the server to execute. The company has financially harmed me and I want to let the world know that the company does not care about customers.I want all others to know and will be doing everything in my power including contacting the SEC in this matter. They did this with bad intent and I have contacted them on the matter over four times and they dont care.Review from Het P

I am truly disappointed with Charles Schwab, while they moved my accounts from TD Ameri Trade to Charles Schwab and result into my multiple account turn in to one login. Every time i tried doing trade it's default choose account where it has less money and i bought stocks from the account has less money so they let me buy and next day they sell on my behalf since there was no enough amount in that particular account plus they charge fees for this. Even after 4 months account has no stocks remain they are still holding my money. upon asking to let me withdrawal they answer is they put restrictions on my account. very unprofessional service. I am truly disappointed with Charles Schwab, and their current executives of their company. The reason for this is because in September 2023 my account was transferred from TD Ameritrade to Charles Schwab. I was under the impression that my account would be transferred without any complications. 60 days in the account my account was closed due to a business decision. I was told by a representative from Charles Schwab that there were no factual evidence on why my account that would've eliminate me from investing and that It was only due to a business decision. The representative also expressed to me that I had the ability to reopen the account if I chose too. Therefore I waited 60 more days to allow things to pan over then I reopen the account one week ago before the New Year's and now my account has been closed once again without any explanation. I'm truly disappointed with Charles Schwab and their organization. I hope anyone that's wanting to make a decision on opening a account with their company, rethink their decision right away, I really feel that Charles Schwab has some sort of discriminatory factors within their company.
