My daughter ************************************* was seen on 2/6/2023 by ************** for a sinus infection. Her regular PCP , *************, was not available and I was told that seeing a Nurse Practitioner would be just a regular PCP visit. With my insurance at the time, our copay was $0 for Pediatric visits. She saw ************** for 10 minutes or so, was given an antibiotic and sent on her way. I received a bill for it about a month later saying that it was a Level 4 doctor visit, which went straight to our deductible (over $300). When I first initially called and asked about it, I got the runaround. Was told to call my insurance, insurance told me to call BSW back, and so on. Then a few months later, on 6/14/2023, my daughter had another sinus infection and we went to see ************** because ************** was not available. This was almost an identical visit, consisting of a sinus infection. We were told it was a regular PCP visit, so our copay would be $0 (the No Surprise Billing thing). We received a bill about a month later saying we owed a $70 copay because she was charged as a specialist. In October of this year, we changed insurances and had to see one of her specialists. I was told that I had an overdue balance, consisting of these two appointments mentioned here and one from 9/18/23. I knew the charges for 9/18/23, because our new insurance gave us an EOB. I agree those charges were correct. So I went ahead and said yes I'll go ahead and pay for the 9/18/23 appointment. When I got the receipt, that payment that was not applied to 9/18/23, but went towards both of these previous bills. I called my insurance company and told them and they have had no luck with BSW. They stated that we were billed correctly. These were regular PCP visits and should be charged as such. I want BSW to correctly rebille both of those office visits and apply the payments that went towards them those to ********** 9/18/23 visit.
