I ordered a 318 marine reverse rotation shortblock from MABBCO Ent. The voice **** took my order telling me there might be a 6 week delay. I proceeded with the purchase (transaction date 12/5/23) willing to wait. **** called back telling me they now had the block and it was on its way. (shipping date 12/6/23). I received the block 12/11/23. When I examined the block I found problems with improperly installed pistons and the wrong (not marine) crankshaft installed. I called to complain to a voice (*****) who refused to even listen. ***** told me I was wrong and had to prove my point. Then as I attempted to explain he said he was insulted and would not even let me speak.

Purchased an engine and these people have failed bad in getting back to me in a timely manner, never asked for replacement, just feedback. Got no where. Had my attorney reach out to owner with no success. Instead they had a attorney send my attorney some nonsense. It was a classic response. I laughed so hard when seeing it. Fact of the matter is this. Some direction from somebody over at that place could have avoided any of this. I should not had to have my attorney get involved for a simple response. No excuse for that. Just needed some direction there engine making a noise at warm up. No big deal. For there attorney to respond with such an ignorant response was pure classic. I'd get a new attorney if mine operated that way. Never once in any of my communication did I ask for a refund because in business things happens. No big deal. Its a big deal when I have hundreds invested into my customers *********** cant collect until truck is complete 100 percent. Why because that is how I run my shop. Quality and honesty are my priority.

I'll provide a brief explanation here as a detailed explanation is included in the documents I will upload. I originally intended to purchase a long block engine from MABBCO MOTORS. Their website was not working so everything was done over the phone. They were to provide documents for my approval of the purchase but they were not being prompt. Over the weekend I decided not to go through with the purchase so I called them on Monday and informed them of my decision. The person I talked to said ok I will take care of it. At that point I believed that would be the end of it. After awhile I received a notification from my credit card app that MABBCO had charged the full amount to my card. As I believed this to be wrong as I had not received or approved any documents I decided I should dispute the charge through the credit card issuer. Later that day I received the documents from MABBCO marked paid in full for my review and approval. I have not ever signed these documents. After a couple of iterations with the credit card company they determined that even though I might have a valid complaint with the merchant it was not a billing error and they would not take any action. I received this information just this Friday 7/21/2023 so after 4 months I'm back to square one. I believe I am entitled to a full refund as I never signed the documents and not subject to their cancellation policy as I never agreed to their terms and conditions and have not received anything from them. I will upload two letters I sent to the card customer service with a detailed timeline and additional information and the invoice/purchase agreement that the merchant sent after I had informed them I would not be making the purchase. I am requesting assistance in this matter as I do not handle stress or conflict well. I had to retire a couple of years earlier than intended due to experiencing 3 mild strokes/TIAs and had to lower my stress levels. Thanks for your assistance.

This matter was resolved through an arbitration proceeding.  While the customer may not agree with the arbitration decision, the customer was the party who elected to have the matter resolved through arbitration.

I am not aware of any arbitration process nor has anyone contacted me regarding any arbitration process. Therefore, I did not agree to any arbitration process with the merchant and have not received any results of such process.  The credit card company reopened the dispute I had filed with them after they closed it and may have gone through the process but they have not informed me about anything regarding the process or any result.  The card agreement may have a clause that allows them to go through the process on my behalf.  I will see what information I can get from them and will get back to you with what I can find out.  It may take awhile as I'll have to figure out who to talk to.  Thanks again for your help in this matter.

6/6/2022 purchase 7/11/2022 received total $4864.94 mabbco motors concealed the details of the motor build from and the motor failed with the 1 year warranty period, due to poor quality workmanship, that i paid a 3rd party to verify for me. Mabbco Motors service department will not return my calls to have a logical conversation to resolve my dispute. Based on all the other complaints, I am suprised that the Texas Attorney General has not shut them down.

I am rejecting this response because:  I paid $355 for someone to do the assessment. Mabbco is trying to hide behind a their policy when it is very clear that they did a poor job and have defrauded me out of my hard earned money. please see the invoice that is already attached to the complaint. I would be happy to return the motor after receiving a full refund.

Invoice IN8979540 Bought a short block from Mabbco on Feb 17th 2023, after numerous calls inquiring on the status they finally told me they were two months behind the promised 6-8 week production time. Then 2 days later I got a shipping tracking number miraculously. After receiving the engine it went directly onto a stand to be inspected and the following issues were glaringly apparent and the engine was not fit to be installed. Piston to wall clearance was almost 1/16th of and inch on all pistons but one, spec is a maximum clearance of *****", these pistons could be rocked back and forth by hand so badly you could hear the piston slap from just that. The cylinder walls were still pitted after they machined them and the block should have been re-sleeved or thrown out and another engine core used. The camshaft was all but seized into the block, you could barely turn the engine over by hand. There were oil galley plugs in channels where there should not be that would cause oiling issues and would not allow the front lifters to be installed since there were partially blocking the lifter bore. They sent me robo-responses but did send a return confirmation number, They have had the engine back for a month now (signed for by *********************) shipped to them on June 7th and delivered on June 14th but I have not received my refund nor any correspondence from them. The engine was returned 6 days after I received it, never installed, only inspected on a stand and determined to be junk. I have tried to call them but I only get the "Thank you for calling Mabbco motors, our offices are now closed (and then the normal business hours). They have not refunded my money for a short block that was barely fit to be used a boat anchor, the engine would have grenaded in ******* miles if it was ever installed. They did not sell me a usable product after taking my $2k and having me wait for 13 weeks for a faulty junk shortblock. and now are ignoring me in an attempt to not refund my money.

Order a ******************* 429 engine for an F 800 truck on February 22 ***** - Invoice #Inv_IN8979547_from_MABBCO_MOTORS_28488. Motor arrived April 7th. Installed motor on April 17th. Motor did run, but poorly. Checked oil pressures , called , but could not speak with anyone. Had to email. Got email response and was emailed a warranty claim form on April 26th. Filled it out and sent it back in 26th. No response , emailed again on April 30th. Got response and update, with no information. Called and spoke with an employee that said I had to return engine prepaid shipping and they would evaluate the engine. I ask if it was their fault would they ship it back, The answer was no, I had to pay shipping , He said I would also pay for any repairs unless they found and issue with their work. On May 2nd , I got an RMA # MA484522023D. After reading reviews on this site and birdseye- I decide to not waste anymore time or money - Zero customer ********************** and all I was getting was road blocks and reasons as to why it would be my fault. Shipping was going to be over $1,000 dollars. Then may have to pay more or not even get the engine returned.See blow the partial email on the **** I have more emails and forms that I sent in with information to them. Thanks ******************** Generally, a complaint regarding no power or lack of power is caused by an improper or faulty installation of the fuel system (or related system(s)). Prior to returning the item for inspection and correction we would highly recommend troubleshooting the fuel system (and related system(s)) as this is generally the cause of such a complaint. Nevertheless, MABBCO will move forward and issue you the following Return Authorization Number. MABBCOs limited warranty states . . . THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER . . . MABBCO remanufactured a motor for us that is defective and is not according to specifications ordered and stated on the invoice. It has multiple issues that require correction by ************ and a local automotive machine shop. Their warranty requires that motors must be returned to them for inspection and correction. The motor we purchased has already been installed in the vehicle by a mechanic who charged $2,000 for the service. No one at MABBCO will speak to us about the matter. All communication is through email only. We have been recently checking reviews on this company and found predominantly complaints, many of which are similar to ours. Unfortunately, we did not search reviews before ordering a $2,000 motor from them. Buyer beware! ****** learned!

I bought a reman motor for my RV. It is a 5.9 Cummins. The old block was cracked. The new one I had installed has a crack in the block as well. Obviously its past the warranty period. It amazes me that Mabbco would let a engine with a foot long crack in the side of it be sold to a consumer and them not wanting to do anything about it.

As customer correctly points out in his letter, the warranty period on this item has long expired.

MABBCO does not agree with customer that the product, at time of delivery, had a foot long crack in the side of the block.  Certainly, if the product was received in such condition, the installing mechanic would have refused to install the item.

Moreover, the installing mechanic has reported to MABBCO that he completely disassembled the motor. The installing mechanic has reported he intentionally modified the engine replacing (1) the crankshaft, (2) the camshaft, and (3) the timing cover.  Certainly, considering the amount of time the mechanic spent modifying the engine, it would have been impossible for him to overlook a foot long crack.

According to customer, this extensive modification was necessitated because his mechanic ordered a motor that was intended for use in a Dodge and instead attempted to install the motor into a Freightliner.
