I made a deposit of $2,500 to company back in June, as I was advised that it was required to reserve a date. I signed the proposal. On September 30, I decided to no longer move forward and cancel. My tentative start day for landscaping services was 10/18. I never further received a confirmed date only tentative. On 10/4 I hear back and get informed that I will not be receiving my money back because I didnt cancel within 14 business days. I read their terms and conditions and it does not state you have 14 BUSINESS days only states you have 14 days. Therefore, when I cancelled on the 30th I was under impression I was still within my cancellation window. However, When they talk about refunds they dont fail to mention that they have 14 BUSINESS days to process. It also does not state that they would keep 20% of total cost if you cancel. It says theres a fee but no clarification. When I spoke to accountant she said theres nothing that can be done because those are the rules. I informed her that they are violating consumer rights due to fact that they are operating business and not even ethically complying by their own terms and conditions. They also never got in contact with me since my deposit to confirm a date with me.Business response
