Additional Information for Dura Shield

On May 12, 2021, BBB contacted Dura Shield regarding their advertised guarantee and warranty claims on their website http://www.durashieldusa.com.  Dura Shield advertises “We guarantee a 25% savings on your heat and cooling bill when you add our radiant barrier to your home.”

Dura Shield also advertises they offer “lifetime warranties.”

BBB Code of Advertising states when using the term “warranty” or “guarantee” the advertiser should clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty or guarantee can be seen prior to the sale which could include putting it on the seller’s website. The Code also states sellers or manufacturers should advertise that a product or service is warranted or guaranteed only if the seller or manufacturer promptly and fully performs its obligations under the warranty or guarantee.  Additionally, when advertising “lifetime” warranties or guarantees or similar representations, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose the intended meaning of the term “lifetime.”

BBB requested Dura Shield add a statement explaining how consumers could view the full warranty and guarantee details or add the full details to their website.  BBB also requested Dura Shield disclose the intended meaning of the term “lifetime” and if the warranties are transferrable when the owner sells their property. 

As of June 16, 2021, Dura Shield did not respond to BBB requests for substantiation of their warranty.
