The apartment above me flooded during the winter freeze in February and I have since been requesting the management to address the subsequent leaks into my apartment. They created three huge pockets of water at the time and several visits from the managers and contractors resulted only in promises to come back and tear out the walls and ceiling.I reminded them again 2 weeks ago and they sent the regular maintenance crew who released the mold behind the paint pockets and it affected me immediately. The complete rash from my scalp to my feet made me have to cancel all my shifts (I work in the food industry) for the past two weeks. I eventually went to the doctor as I dreaded the cash payment for one without insurance. I am on three medications and I went to notify the management of what happened. They said that they will meet to discuss my matter on Monday and today I received this reply.Hi *********,Per my conversation with our Regional Manager, we will not be able to release you from your contract at this time. I have informed her of the whole situation and gave her all of the documentation that you provided to me.The main reason for this is because although you did send in emails asking for an update, the most recent inquiry you sent asking for an update on these issues was in June. From June up until the day we spoke a couple weeks ago, you did not ask about it again. You then renewed your lease and at the time of renewal, you didnt mention there was still an issue in your bathroom so that it could get it taken care of for you. While ***** and ****** were in there working on the 4th aand 5th, there was not any mold growth and no moisture was detected in the walls. If there was any type of mold growing in your walls, by this time it would have covered most of your ceiling and you would have most likely been sick from it months ago.I understand your frustration with this matter but we, the current staff, have done our part in correcting this issue.
