October 22 I **** ***** drove my car to parkway car care to get a thermostat and water pump replaced on my dodge challenger. because the car had over heated. the stated they did a pressure test and recommended I change my thermostat and water pump. I agreed to get he work done. Parkway car care a few days later stated my car was ready for pick up. When I arrived later that day to pick my car up the mechanic Tony told me they were doing a test drive on the vehicle and it cut off and had to have it towed back to their shop. tony stated he suspected the timing chain skipped and locked up the engine and I would need to get a diagnostics done for them to figure out what's the problem with the vehicle. I then went Back and fourth with Tony and the Owner TJ for the next week or so about who should pay for the diagnostic since it was broken while in there care. Because I brought my car in for a minor issue and they were telling me that my car is no longer running and its going to cost me to find out what's wrong with my car we came to an agreement of 2.9 hours of labor time. Tony then stated I should try and see if I can claim the issue on my insurance I told them I would look into it. I spoke with my insurance company USAA and they denied the claim and stated the car company should go through their insurance company since the issue happened in their care. Its been over a month and I'm just getting a diagnostics on my vehicle, first TJ the owner stated I would need a new engine now he's stating that his mechanics can fix the issue for but it would cost me close to 3000 dollars or a new engine replacement is close to XXXXX dollars. he is claiming wear and tear on the timing chain but it was replaced by dodge in 2015. there was no issue with the timing chain prior to going into the shop. signs of a bad timing chain would include, engine rattle, misfires, starting issues. my car displayed none of to those things.Business response
