The company has repeatedly called, using differnet numbers, to collect upon a supposed debt. The debt does not exist and orginated through another scam "loan" company. Years ago, over 10, said "loan" company made a deposit into my checking account. as I wasn't expecting a deposit, nor did I know the sender, I went directly to my ************ branch. There the security official advised me that, not only were these types of advanced loans illeagal in the State of ********, I could sign an affidavit stating the funds were placed in my account without my knowledge. The credit union could then return the funds to the sender. I signed the document and the funds were returned to the orignator the same day they were deposited. This company, ***, is now trying to collect on said illeagal "loan" as a debt. On the first call a few months ago, as I tried to gain an understanding of the debt they claimed I owed, they gave me 3 different amounts for the same debt (red flag!!) & have never sent a mailed invoice or letter to collect. As of yesterday, I begunt acking each time they call and hope filing a copaint here can lead to resolution so no further steps have to be taken.

I voluntarily called in to settle a debt. We agreed on $1625.00 settlement. My intention were to quickly settle the debt within 30 to 60 days. So Within 6 days I gave them $400. Yesterday I explained to them that on the online portal it is still reflecting that I owe them $1625.00. I would like to settle this debt but you guys didnt credit me for the $400.00 I paid you. They responded with all types of excuses. Fixed responses, manipulation tactics everything but the truth and simple resolution. I spoke to 5 representatives. What type of company makes something as simple as crediting me for money I paid towards a balance. Yet make it so complicated. What makes you think a person is going to continue to pay on a debt and not get credit for it. They cant even explain where the $400 went. I demand a resolution and receipt of my payment and written agreement of the settlement and Ill happily pay it. But I refuse to keep paying towards a crooked and misleading settlement. I shouldnt have to beg for a receipt of my payment. You need to really fix your business practices RGS Financial. I cant trust your company.

Thank you for contacting our office, Mr. ******* regarding your concerns.  We have investigated your complaint, and your complaint is important to us. In review of your account, we would like to provide you with the following facts:

You initially agreed to settle your account with our office and agreed to make payments over the phone with a representative. We received a total of $400.00.
You contacted our office to cancel your settlement arrangement because it was not reflected online. Please keep in mind that the online portal is a different system than what our representatives use. Unless you set up the arrangement online, it will not reflect the arrangement. However, as the balance decreases, it will be reflected online.
You indicated that you were not getting credit for your payments, when actuality you were receiving credit.
We are still honoring the settlement for the $1620. You would need to contact our office and set up the arrangement over the phone with a representative. If you go online, the settlement will be based off the current balance not the initial balance at the time of the original settlement. Unfortunately, thats how the online system works.
Attached is a copy of the settlement letter reflecting the terms of agreed upon settlement.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at ************.

This business has been spoofing NY numbers now calling me three times today alone. They are in **. Why are you spoofing numbers? I had let the company they are harassing me on behalf of know that three things happened. 1 - I lost my job. 2 - I have been diagnosed with cancer (multiple Myeloma), 3 - my spine collapsed and needed surgery to repair (that was caused by the cancer) hence I am not able to work and why I lost my job. This business *** of whom I have not given permission to use my number now has texted me while I was getting chemo treatments, and has called me three times today while going through Physical Therapy after chemo treatments. All of this I can prove that I am unemployed and undergoing cancer treatments along with PT. Not only that I am also a veteran. At what point did I give this company permission to spam my phone number? A cell phone number at that! Never! You are spoofing NY numbers which is illegal. I am passing along this to the *** and NYSAG as well. They don't leave voicemails, just call non stop. I put a reverse tracer on the numbers and it points back to you. You want to contact me you email me as I do everything in writing. At no point did I give you permission to harass me or any other number you have tried. How these businesses are allowed to conduct themselves like this is mind blowing. I can also show the non-stop harassing voicemails left by the client they are representing too after I had explained situation. Called everyday. Apparently they don't care about my situation and figure will harass people no matter what.

I would like this re-opened and sent back to company as I was unable to reply at time due to being sick from cancer treatments. I have attached proof this business continues to harass me. This text was seen by my care provider when I was undergoing cancer treatments. I want this re-opened as I never had a chance to reply as I was in the middle of cancer treatments and was sick. They continue to spoof NY numbers and call me every day. The number they are calling and texting is ************. That is a cell number! I have never given permission to do so and any other number they have illegally obtained and called. I have never signed any agreements or contracts with this place. They want to communicate do so via email.

I am reaching out regarding account #**********. Currently, the account has a 50% settlement offer in the amount of $598.70. This amount is too high for me. Can I settle this account for $239? Please adjust the settlement offer on the website. I am on fixed income, a disabled retiree, and this would be a tremendous help during these trying times. Thank you!

In review of the details of this complaint, this is not a valid complaint. Instead of going through this portal, the customer could have contacted our office to discuss their option to resolve the matter. In response to the complaint, RGS Financial does not own the account. The original creditor still owns the debt and has set guidelines when it comes to the threshold, we are able to offer a settlement.Unfortunately, the 50% settlement is the lowest amount we are allowed to accept. We understand that the customer is on a fixed income however we do not able the ability to accept anything lower. The customer can call our office at ************ to discuss other options like an extended payment plan or maybe more payments on the 50% settlement.

RGS Called my workplace several times, and today, 1/27/2025, I happened to answer the phone because they never leave a message. That is harassment. They have my cell phone number and, again, never leave a voice mail. I have asked the letter to be resent to my home address of record so that I can go online to pay the bill. There have been payments made to the bank for what I owed, and the associate seems to be implying I have never attempted to resolve the balance. I still bank with the institution, and they are collecting less than $250 dollars. I do not want to be harassed at work.

It appears that this complaint was not meant for RGS Financial, LLC.

RGS Financial is a 3rd party collection agency that does not sue consumers so a representative would not advise that. Also, we are unable to pull any records that match the name, address or phone number provided.

Are you sure this was not for *********************** "RGS"?

It is possible this debt collectors phone number has need duplicated by another debt collector. All the lady would tell me is it was a debt collection when I looked up the number she called from it led back to this business.

I attempted to pay debt on website of $1349.91. It apparently went through twice and was processed by my bank 11/18/24. I never received a confirmation email at the time. I attempted emailing the company who stated my bank had to issue stop order on extra payment- they would not refund. I called my bank and they stated since transaction went thru I would need to have company reimburse it since a stop order cannot be done. I called the company and representative stated it was not an issue , please provide proof of both payments. I did that through email of bank statement. Subsequent email stated they still would not reimburse the double charge. All i am asking for is reimbursement of the money not owed.

      Business Response

In review of the complaint, the statements made by Mr. ***** are inaccurate. We would like to provide ******** the following facts:

Mr. ***** initially contacted our office on Tuesday, November 19th stating that RGS Financial double billed him for a transaction that was made by Mr. ***** on the *** website. After reviewing the transaction, it shows that Mr. ***** made two payments within 4 minutes of each other. There were two different reference numbers and authorization codes for the transactions.
Mr. ***** stated he wanted to be refunded ASAP. We advised Mr. ***** of his options since both payments were made by check (***) and not debit or credit card. We advised that he could contact his bank and issue a stop payment, if we wanted the funds right away, or wait 5 days until the *** hold is lifted. We advised that using a check, the timeframe from which the funds are pulled from his account and posted to ours is about 5 days. During that timeframe, we would not be able to void out the transaction.
Mr. ***** did contact our office via phone and the representative did advise him to send screenshots of the two payments and it should not be a problem with granting the refund. However, it still would have to wait until the *** hold has been lifted.
In the email, we advised Mr. ***** that RGS Financial would not have a problem with granting the refund. Not one time did we say no to the refund. Mr. ***** wanted the money back ASAP and unfortunately; we would not be able to do that. That appears to be the issue at hand.
As of the date of this response, our office has issued a refund of $1,349.91. The authorization code is ****** and reference number is **********. Mr. ***** would need to verify with his bank when the refunded amount would be in his account.

Attached is the email conversation between RGS Financial and Mr. ***** advising him of the process and when our office can issue the refund. As you can see from the email, RGS Financial has not one time stated we cannot and refuse to issue a refund.

      Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern,I am filing this complaint regarding RGS Financial's repeated and unlawful attempts to contact me regarding an alleged debt, for which I have no knowledge or contractual obligation. Despite not having a contract with RGS Financial, I have received numerous calls from them, none of which have included any voicemail or written correspondence. On 9/14/2024, I called RGS Financial at 9:35 AM CST and spoke with a representative (name given as Kirra, I may not have her name correct). During this call, I explicitly requested that they cease all further communications, as I do not recognize the alleged debt. I requested documentation of any direct contractual relationship between myself and their company. This request has been ignored.RGS Financial's actions violate the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) 15 U.S.C. 1681, as they failed to provide any evidence of the alleged debt, nor have they sent any debt validation letter as required under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) 15 U.S.C. 1692g. This continued harassment without proper validation is unlawful, and I request that this matter be addressed immediately.Furthermore, I ask that any reference to this alleged debt be removed from my credit reports, as I am not liable for any such debt. I am filing this complaint in the hope that the BBB can assist in resolving this issue and ensure that RGS Financial adheres to the legal standards set forth by federal consumer protection laws.Thank you for your assistance.I do not have the account number as no correspondence has been provided.
