We contracted with Precision for a shingle roof in the amount of $64,000. We have paid them half of this amount so far. During tear off of the old tile roof, the crew made a mess around our home. Most of it has been remedied, but now we have 2 major issues outstanding and Precision will not respond. Our most recent correspondence was through email with no response, and yesterday we mailed a certified letter asking for a response. The dormers on either side of our garage do not match. The soffits/fascia are scratched/cut up as a result of the tear off and clearly reused. The copper work is haphazardly placed to cover damage over the soffits/fascia. The work is not up to industry standards. The major problem is that the copper gutters were damaged all the way around the home by their subcontracted crew. The gutters were not protected during tear off and they were used as a catch-all for debris-you can see if you zoom in to some of the photos. Last week, Precision and a gutter contractor came to walk around our home. Once provided with a bid, almost $25,000, Precision is saying that gutters have hurricane damage. I have proof that this is not the case. We had 3 runs of gutter damaged after Ida and we have always been very forthcoming about this. I have the adjuster's report listing the 3 runs of gutter. We were hoping to fix them after the roof job. I also have pictures from after the hurricane that show our gutters did not have damage before the roofing job. Out of 37 runs of gutter, 3 have hurricane damage, 22 of them were damaged by the subcontracted crew, the 12 that are ok are mostly short runs of gutter, see attached diagram. Precision offered to replace our gutters with an aluminum gutter system which is an inferior product to what we currently have. This is not acceptable, we are trying to sell our home. This company is licensed and insured, we are ready to resolve this. The roof start date was April 3 and the last date someone was here working was May 12.

Precision has tried tirelessly to make the ********* happy. ALL emails and letters were answered by many phone calls and trips to the property by our Supervisor ******* and the project managers ****** and ******** so that is just not the truth to say they went unanswered. The majority of their complaints had to do with the outcome of taking a ******** roof that measured 4-5 inches thick and replacing with a shingle roof that is less than 1 inch thick. This height difference is what caused the look that they are complaining about in their description and pictures. This is the unfinished wood/non weathered wood that had previously been covered by the ********. This carpentry has nothing to do with the roof that we installed and was not damaged by the roof removal but was simply hidden by the old roofing product. This was explained to the ********* on several different occasions. Our project manager should have warned the ********* about this possibility BEFORE we removed the old roof but because he didn't, we felt the need to remedy the ********* dissatisfaction. (Side note- the ********* told us they are selling the house and didn't care what product went back on the roof, as we first recommended and gave them a quote for a like kind and quality material to the discontinued tile roof that we removed from their home. We would have never recommended the shingles, but Mrs. ******* chose them since they were the less expensive option we gave)

We tried numerous times to make them happy with different solutions and they always found something else to be upset about. The $25,000 gutter quote was given to the ********* before the re-roof. The gentleman that gave that quote told Precision that the gutters were already in bad shape before we started our construction and only had minimal additional damage. Precision offered to replace the runs of the copper gutters that were obviously damaged by our roofers. The ********* refused the offer and threatened to call the BBB on us if we didn't give them all new gutters which we were not contracted obligated to do. At that point, we knew that nothing that was going to make the ********* happy and after multiple threats by the ********* to tarnish our reputation online and status with the contracting board, Precision paid to have all new copper gutters installed on the ********* home. Precision was not contracted to do this, definitely did not damage all runs of gutters and are not being paid for by the ********* for these gutters. At this point, we are still owed $32,000 by the ********* AND have given them tens of thousands of dollars worth of free carpentry work, copper flashing and free copper gutters all in an attempt to make them satisfied customers.
