Transaction date: 1-28-22 Issue: Suspension had a creaking noise while turning.***** charged me $650 labor only. He put my truck on the lift at 9:30 a.m. He did not notify me when it was done. I showed up to his shop at 1:30 pm and it was parked outside already. I asked him how much he charges he said $100/hr. When I questioned the total labor charge he was pointing to things on his computer which did not make sense to me. BEFORE he could work on my truck ***** had me drive to San ****** to buy the parts at O'Rileys. He called ahead of time so they could have the parts ready for me, which they didn't. He kept my truck up on the lift while I was gone. On my way back he texted me "Hurry up". When I got to his shop with the parts, I was given a wrong part so ***** **** me to the O'Rileys in ******** to get it replaced. When I returned he said I needed some additional parts and **** me to a ****** dealership in ******. They took a long time since they have two *********** which were a few miles apart. I communicated to ***** the long wait. He texted me "Tell them to hurry up". 100 total miles later, I finally arrive with all parts needed by 12:20. The last parts I delivered were all that he needed to finish the job which were long screws and their backings to the control arms. He must not have test drove it because my truck had vibrations in the rear while breaking. I called him Mon. Jan. 31 to tell him so he can fix it. Without visual inspection, ***** was adamant that it was the front breaks which I did NOT have any problems with before. He said I needed new pads then he says they have 65% left so he resurfaced the rotors. We took it for a drive and my front rt break was grinding to metal! His response was "but is it still vibrating?" I told him for $650 I expected quality service. And having me get the parts like an employee. The charge is unjustifiable. I do not trust his work/word. Another shop told me they will have to back track all he did. They said I overpaid!

      03/01/2022

On 1/28/2022 we had a client by the name ******************************* who had previously call more than one time trying to have us look into some squeaking noise that she had coming from somewhere under the truck, that morning I called her to ask if that day was a good day for her to bring the truck, to what she said yes, after a test drive I noticed some braking issues like noises and brake pulsation to what she said she wanted to know the source of the squeaking going over path holes or rail tracks, after pry jacking front tires with a steel bar we noticed some movement on lower control arm bushings, we lifted the vehicle on a lift to be able to see the worn out a frame bushings, we remove the wheels to look into the brakes and found rear brake shoes badly worn out with cracked brake linings and a leaky wheel cylinders front brake about 60% brake lining remaining, at that point she wanted to have front lower control arms  and rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders replaced to which she volunteer to go buy her own parts to speed up the down time, after looking the parts store website she ask for a ride home to pick a different vehicle to be able to move around.

After her return to the shop, I advised her that we were going to need the special adjustment lower control arm cam sleeve and cam plate nuts since they were rusted to the control arm and truck frame and that they were going to get damage during removal of the control arm, for that I made a call to the dealer and put the parts on a will call for pick up under the shop`s name and she went after the special control arm hardware parts in the Austin ****************

Time to perform labor is as follow,

      (Brake shoes replace rear 1.6)

(Wheel cylinder replace both side rear .2)

       (Reface brake drums rear .6)

       (Brake bleeding 2 wheel .9)

(Lower control arm replace front both sides 3.2)

Labor guide Alldata Labor rate $100 an hour a total of $650 just in labor

didn't add any extra time to deal with rusted lower control arm cam bolts and sleeve`s, to locate her vehicle parts, shop supplies that were used are brake cleaner, brake fluid, special lubricant to soften rusted points in the front suspension,

She was advised to have the alignment check somewhere else after front control arms replacement

3 or 4 day later she calls to let us know that there is a braking issue and a light scraping noise coming from front wheels under braking conditions, she came around one afternoon around 4 pm for an evaluation of the braking issues and it was the brake pulsation coming from the front brake rotors due to warpage and a caliper slightly touching the inner of the aluminum wheel.

At that point I tried to explain to her that those were related to brake rotors been warped and front brake rotors needed to be refaced to which she keeps saying that she didn't have any brake trouble until we work on her truck.

I offered to her to repair her vehicle to get rid of her issues and that she didn't have to pay if she didn't want all I needed is time to do the repairs but at that point, she was upset very offensive, we dont usually run into client/costumer conflict.

I could say more but I want to leave there, sorry ****** that you feel that way but I feel that I did everything to try to deal with your issues.

      Complaint: 16728659

I am rejecting this response because:

I reviewed ******* response. He is lying. I stated the factual chain of events. I wish I could have stated more but I only had so many characters to tell my complaint. He says I was offensive yet he was the one who was rude. I even told him he was rude. He replied "If I'm rude to you I'm rude to everyone."

After he was adamant that the vibration was coming from the front breaks and not that back that he had worked and he himself resurfaced the rotors since he found the pads had 60% left, we BOTH took my truck for a test drive and that's when the right front brakes were grinding. At this point I was upset because he created an issue that was non existent before. I kept telling him this didn't make any sense. He told his assistant in front of me that I was just being "picky", then he laughed at me. I said "excuse me you would b upset to if this happened to you". He replied, "No, I would be excited." I asked him if he treated all women this way. And this is also when I told him that I expected quality service for $650 in labor. Oddly enough when I paid that amount he said, " Next time you want to spend this much money you give me a call, ok." The nerve of this man.

His hours in labor do not match the time he actually worked on my vehicle. It's noted in my complaint.

If he did this to all his customers he would be out of business. I'm positive I am one if not but a few who get scammed like this.

...also... I did not volunteer to get the parts he said would be needed. I initially went to him already with parts in hand thinking it was the issue (lower ball joints and rear shocks). After he put my truck on the lift is when he noticed the problem was the front control arms and rear drums. He then said to "go get the parts" to the places listed in my complaint. I did not volunteer to be his driver. And I also failed to mention that to add to his rudeness he said I was just being "sensitive" regarding his rude behavior.

"After he was adamant that the vibration was coming from the front breaks ((and not that back)) that he had worked and he himself resurfaced the rotors since he found the pads had 60% left, we BOTH took my truck for a test drive and that's when the right front brakes were grinding"
