I had this company build me a awning on the front of my trailer home. I had them take the measurements.. I told them I would like to cover the concrete in front. when the job was finished the awning was four foot over on one side and four foot of the concrete on the other side wasn't covered. I have tried to work this out and all they will say it is built by the contract that I signed. I told them I didn't measure this and I am not a contractor. so long story short they will fix it but I have to pay for there mistake. The cost of this was like 11,900 dollars. I do understand someone making a mistake but to charge me for it. I don't understand. I have spent money with them in the past and was happy. They built a 30x70 shop and built me a awning on the end of my trailer. Including this work here I have spent like 60,400 dollars with them. I just don't understand them not making this right.

We would like to state that Mr. ****** has been a very good customer for us and we have done previous jobs for him without a hitch. It has been a pleasure to do business with him.

In May of 2021 Mr. ****** reached out to Action for a quote on a cover coming off of his home. The quote was given over the phone in which the customer provided the specs.

A few weeks later Mr. ****** reached out that he was ready to sign a contract. A sales representative of Action met with Mr. ****** at a local shopping center and signed a contract for the cover June 2021 for $13,900.00 . At this time Action had never been at the property to take measurements for this specific job. The contract was signed based on the original specs the customer provided over the phone. It is common that customers provide us with specifics like this all the time.

Action ordered the materials per contract agreement and installed the cover. After the cover was built we were notified that he was not happy that the cover did not cover his entire slab. Action looked into the customers concerns and it was determined that for it to cover the entire slab it would have needed to be larger.

It is to Action's understanding that the contract was fulfilled and completed per agreement. Action cannot build Mr. ****** a cover larger for the same cost or for free. It cost more money to build the cover larger and that was not what was agreed upon. Action did not want to leave the customer unhappy, so we offered to build the cover larger at only cost. No markup or added cost, only the cost of what it would take to build larger to make the customer happy. The customer was not interested in this proposal and that was the last we had heard from him.

I am rejecting this response because:

I never gave them the measurements. That is not the truth.. Around two years ago I talked with there salesman ****** and we measured the concrete slab and I told him I want it coved  he said he would get all the measurements and let me know the price

we wasn't sure because the trailer has a gable roof on part of the front he later called me and let me know the price. I didn't have enough money to do the job it took me about two years to get the money and the price went up which I understood.

So I called ****** and ask him about the job and he said he still had the paper work from when we had talked two years ago..

he gave me new price and I okay end job and then meet him and gave him down payment. He later said they needed to come out and check to make sure that job would get done correct

after I complained about job he told that job foreman even said that it wasn't looking right but I never got a call.

i don't build awning but they do. I would love to meet with the owner to discuss this.. With the salesman there

(the owner listed with Bibb not the man I talked with on the phone)

First I would like to thank BBB for all the help with this problem.

Just to follow up from last time. Action did finally get with me about the problem. In late Jan. he ******* told me he would extend the awning to the edge of concrete but my wife really wanted it to look like the other side around 3.5 foot off of concrete. I ask him if he would do that and he said he would have to charge me one thousand dollars for that. I tried to talk him down but he wouldn't come off price so i said go ahead and make it like the other side and I would pay the extra 1000 dollars.  I think the emails explain the rest of the story.

These  people are real nice to talk with and do good work. They just have a problem with saying  they are wrong.

So long story short it cost me one thousand dollars to correct their mistake.
