I hired C&R construction to remodel 2 bathrooms in my house and got a quote in September. The quote was $9,500.00 to $10,000.00 an i would be responsible for materials. There where problems almost from the start when my wife would remind ******************* that she wanted things done a certain way and he would be visibly upset. Several times when my wife would question the quality of work ***** would say that he can just "walk away" and "let someone else take this job". As he neared completion ***** would ask for money here and there, $1,200,00, $3,000.00, and i think an excess of $4,000.00 one time. I paid for all the materials like vanity, tiles, toilets, bathtubs, sinks, and bathroom minor bathroom fixtures. When ***** finished the shower in the master bathroom we noticed that the water wouldn't drain properly because the shower based doesn't slope down towards the drain. He offered to fix it by taking a few tiles off and scraping the concrete, I declined and also told him not to install my bathtub because I had concerns it might be done incorrectly. At this point I paid him very close if not slightly more then $10,000. He then gives me a **** for nearly $5,000.00 and explains its for other materials he purchased. My wife then spoke to him and he agreed to lower the **** since he didn't install the bathtub in the master bathroom or any of the mirrors since we had another company install them. I paid him an additional $3,000.00 towards the remainder of the ****. I recently contacted another contractor to see if he can fix the shower base and he said he would not unless he removed all the tile and installed it himself. I don't have enough money left to demolish what ***** did and re install new shower tile.
