To whom it may concern, I am writing to file a formal complaint against KRQE 13. On October 8, 2022 ********************, a reporter for KRQE asked my now fiance if they could record and broadcast our proposal. In exchange for appearing on the news broadcast the reporter promised that she would provide ** with the footage the next week. Despite attempts from myself and family members to reach out to ***************** directly in the weeks that followed she never responded back to ** and never shared the promised footage. Eventually I was able to contact the Station Manager at KRQE 13 who informed me that it was against station policy to provide footage. I feel that we were taken advantage of. Had we not received the verbal commitment that we would receive the footage we would never have agreed to be on the television broadcast. ***************** has displayed unethical journalistic practices by promising something she was unable to deliver to have something to broadcast that day. She also refused to respond to any correspondence until I sent her a public tweet. It was ***************** who approached ** to feature ** on the news. We did not seek this out and we would never have agreed to share such an intimate moment so publicly if not for her assurance we would receive the footage. ***************** has since stated she did not know that it was against the station's policy to provide footage like this to the individuals featured in it. Regardless she made a promise in order to receive something in return which constitutes a verbal contract. This has taken a very special moment from us and warped the memory into something negative. We want the footage for personal use only and are disappointed in the hostility we have received from KRQE. I would expect a broadcast station such as this to have much better journalistic integrity and stand by their word. Sincerely,*******************************
