10-06-22 my vehicle was in an accident and was stored in “autos r us” lot, same day I signed an “authorization release form” for vehicle to be transported to collision center of my choice. Office manager mentioned he will get me a great deal on their on premise collision center and will work with me on storage fees, I said no thank you, I will go with my insurance company and their sponsored collision centers. On the same day of 10-06-22 I signed release form and on 10-14-22 they decided to release the vehicle to my insurance company and the collision center of my choice! They waited approximately one week and held my vehicle hostage until they decided to release the vehicle! My insurance company got involved everyday attempting to contact them, phone would keep on ringing, busy signal, or when they pick up the phone they have my insurance company on hold and hang up the phone, I called everyday to my insurance company on why they would take advantage of the situation and purposely hold my vehicle for ransom in order to collect storage fees! My insurance company finally escalated the situation to the legal department and approximately one week later “autos r us” decided to release the vehicle after the situation was escalated with my insurance company! If this happened to me I can only imagine the numerous customers they take advantage of by not releasing vehicles after a release form was signed in order for them to collect more money on storage fees for each day that passes! It is a shame how businesses take advantage of situations like mine that was involved in a “hit and run” accident! Please do something about this and make an example out of this business to never take advantage of customers and what they are going through!! Their is a big sign on their lot that states “24 hour service”! Their is always an office manager present 24 hours a day to register vehicles that arrive in their lot! They purposely avoided my calls, my insurance company calls. Thx YC
