I hired a home remodel company from ********* October 2021. The company was given a drawn out layout of how the home was to be remodeled and was told the deadline was no longer than the following May 2022 for my daughters graduation. The project consisted of enclosing the back patio and making it into an enlarged master bath, closet and kitchen as well as updating the guest bath. The contractor promised that all his work was guaranteed and I was promised it would be what I wanted. Fast forward May 2022 The house is not finished: the master bath tile was not installed correctly (drain issues in shower and the wheelchair *************** have raised areas) with lots of holes in the grout all over, brand new plumbing was installed wrong (not to plans) and without permission dug up and fixed, walls surrounding the new shower area bowed, a closet was created not to my specifications, windows in the master shower and kitchen were installed without my permission, tile in the kitchen was unlevel, contractor demolished the existing cabinets without permission, texture spray was used on all my existing fans/lights, toilet was broken by contractor, faucet began leaking from newly constructed wall in kitchen, new ceiling has multiplie cracks in dining and bath area, wall is separating from ceiling on tile shower wall. My family and I ripped out the existing laminate flooring, took off baseboards, demoed the master shower area and I paid for ALL supplies/fixtures/appliances/etc. I never told the contractor I wouldnt pay, actually at this point he had $75,000 of my money. He kept my cabinets hostage, even though I had paid for them, and only after hiring a lawyer, did I get them. initial $100,000 projected cost from the bad contractor.

In the first 3 weeks of June 2021, ****’s workers began work on a bathroom remodel agreed to by both parties. The work agreed upon during this time included demolition of existing bathroom, painting, installation of tile and construction of shower. **** promised in email to have ****** (his main worker) complete the work to ensure it would be done in a quality fashion but instead had the children of ****** perform the work unsupervised. As a result, the work performed was unsatisfactory. Areas were not grouted on floor and shower tile, tile was placed unevenly, baseboards were not replaced, crown molding was not protected and has splotches of gray paint, holes left in bedroom and bathroom, and most importantly the shower was not water proofed and will need to be demolished and redone completely. **** is charging $11800 for a job that is inadequate and needs to be redone. He signed a form stating he would rectify the situation but is now claiming it’s not his signature. Pics below

This customer became abusive and threatening to my self & my worker. Customer told me that "He hated me and never wanted me in his house again. Customer accepted a refund of work not completed then cancelled a prior check and simultaneously attempted to cash  their refund check. This action constitutes fraud and theft of services. Customer then claimed that I abandoned his job and will have to tear out his shower. Customer actually cancelled job and then received refund. Customer now owes for portion of returned check.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  the business’s response is completely false and fabricated.  I have picture/video/written/text/email evidence proving that **** did not perform the job he promised and also evidence that he agreed to fix the mistakes his workers made and then reneged on that promise.  I even have a signed document from him stating that he would make these fixes that matches his signature on his check.  ****’s response that I threatened his workers is a completely false claim and I have video evidence to show I had a great rapport with his workers (provided drinks, sat down and had lunch with them, spoke to them about their families in Spanish).  **** has no integrity and doesn’t mind lying about the fact that he was in fact the one who abandoned the project.  I have solid proof of this.  Given that he has no remorse and is not willing to admit his mistakes, it is clear he needs to be taught a lesson so that he doesn’t rip off future customers.

      Regards,
