Georgetown Utilities system is dysfunctional in their billing. Complaints from many GT residents have been aired in the news and on local apps. The last one in particular that effected me was Aug-Sept. 2022. People were receiving crazy outrageous water bills. One couple received a $1200 bill. I received 3 bills that were 2-3x above my average. Others they fixed their bill by charging them their last 6mo averages before the spike. That's what I paid on my own then always paid my current charges from then on. I have been protesting the difference. GT utility office refuses to call "me" to work it out. They call my husband who doesn't have the details and paperwork. He has told them repeatedly to call me. I called myself and the woman couldn't justify the spike in my bills so she was going to have someone else call me. They never did. I called back and left msgs. No one called me. They now blackmailed me into paying a fee to keep my electric on in my home. This is criminal. The city manager has admitted on two occasions that the city's utilitiy billing system has has problems. Own up to your errors and stop penalizing the citizens that live here.
