On 9/27/2023 my business relationship began with The Transmission Shop ********** to have my 2014 ****** Sentra's CVT transmission rebuilt. Prior to bringing my vehicle in for service I inquired about getting a remanufactured CVT, my understanding is this type of transmission is difficult, he confirmed they can do it. At this point the communication was great, I knew I'd be without the vehicle for at least a month no problem. On 11/1/2023 I get the call the vehicle is ready. ******* gives me a run down some parts were double the cost and the ******** the cost. I thought that was cool, I'm on disability/fixed income, I didn't ask for the $100 off for major repairs. I ask should I bring it back after a certain number of miles for a checkup, he said no just look out for leaks. Within a week grease and fluid was on my driveway. Took it back, leaking from axle. I parked the vehicle the very next day until I could get money for the axle, because there was a popping noise. Nov 15, 2023, they replaced the axle, still making popping noise. Nov 17, 2023, the transmission completely fails. I'm stranded on 35E. Vehicle is towed back to the shop. Nov 20, I talked with ****, he tells me the chain broke in the transmission. After talking with ****, it was determined that the transmission was causing the noise and beginning to fail. Since that time, they have been trying to figure it out. I requested that they get me a rental, because it was costing me money to get my kid to school. in that regard it has been very disappointing. Finally on Dec 11, 2023, I was told they have to order a new transmission. That also the time when I was told I could drive the car around town since I have things to do. That was a mistake to do it was a hazard. On 12/14 they sent a tow for the car, because they had a transmission coming on 12/15. As of this day 12/19 I have not heard anything. Doesn't seem like a paying customer is a priorty to get the problem resolved timely. Could use the 100 on rental.Business response

We did have problems with this car! We did resolve ****'s issues with his vehicle have been resolved. We are very sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.

Took our sprinter van to get the transmission rebuilt, after the transmission work was completed they did not secure the engine and transmission components back together properly, which ended up with the engine, falling out and causing computer and electrical issues, none of the mechanics in this place are licensed, the shop operates without a full fire, marshal or state inspection, and upon further investigation the legal entity doesnt even have a bank account or insurance covering this LLC, the owner is *********************** , who is the wife of Universal transmissions owner, but this particular business diesel ***************************** is legally registered and owned by her but operated by her son, ********************* . This whole operation is a sham and a cover-up for either money, laundering or some other activity thats not legal .Business response

Date: May 9 -2021 Transmission rebuilt for ford f150. Issue :- 1. Originally quoted between 1800-2300 and ended up charging 3000$ Which is way over than expected for no reason. I took it to more shops and they all quoted max 2200! 2. Also Ever since have issues with shifting !! Manager of the plano shop was julio Thanks *****Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/13) */ To all concerned, I'm not sure why Mr. ***** waited around 5 months to discover he was overcharged! I do NOT have a previous written quote of $2200.00. I did notice there was one item on his receipt that is not a transmission part. We installed auxiliary oil cooler on the front of his radiator that has a part cost of 125.00 and 145.00 labor which included on his total labor. That one item is 270.00 and then you have tax of 163.30 so we are getting close to this alleged 2200.00 quote. I have talked to Julio (manager)and he is not sure what Mr. ***** is talking about. Mr ***** cannot say he overcharged on something 5 months ago! AND If he has a shifting problem bring it to us because he has a warranty! Thank You Martha A****Initial Complaint

My vehicle had the transmission replaced in June. On July 30 the vehicle began having transmission problems, and it was towed to the shop on Aug 2. The vehicle was not looked at/diagnosed until Aug 5. The vehicle's transmission was torn down on Aug 9 and a call was made to me regarding the state of the repair on Aug 10. They replaced a sensor and had to rebuild the transmission. The sensor was not the problem and we were then told the vehicle's transmission computer had to be replaced. The part was ordered and we were told the vehicle's computer would be programmed on Aug 13. We were then told the programming tool was broken and a new one would be in on Monday Aug 16. On Monday Aug 16 we were told the vehicle would not be ready until Tuesday Aug 17. As of Aug 17 it will be 16 days without a working vehicle. I asked for a discount due to the length of repair, was offered $200 for programming, and then that discount was "taken back" (via text). I would like my discount that was offered.Business response

6/15/2021 took truck to transmission shop advised john the mgr transmission not shifting picked truck up on 6/22/2021 drove off lot didn't make block same problem took the truck back said he would check it this was to be new rebuilt transmission 7/12/2021 returned same problem/released 8/12/21 drove home called john advised my truck still not fix i don't i don't think any repair was done john gave same receipt every time something is not right he kept my truck since 6/22 to 8/12/21 kept giving me excuse why my truck was not fixed i paid in cash on 6/22/21 when i was advised repair was complete total price3483.92Business response

THIS has to be corrected or the transmission WILL get damaged. I want Mr. Strange & BBB to understand that we rebuilt his transmission (mechanic part gears,clutches) Now we have been chasing this electrical problem at no labor charge. We are doing this for customer satisfaction. Customer thinks he has paid his money and it should work and I understand this but he has an electrical problem and we want to help but really we only rebuilt the transmission. We have tried repeatable times for Mr. Strange to bring his truck back to us so we can resolve this. So if he will bring it back we will get to the bottom of this. We believe we have repaired his ELECTRICAL problem after many hours diagnostic. He will not bring it back to us so we can FIX HIS truck's electrical if there is one. From the first time I communicated with Mr. Strange all he wanted is his money back and won't bring his truck back so we can at least check it! Mr. Strange eventually did bring his truck back to our shop and truck was sent to **** at our McKinney location. He did an find the electrical problem. A short in a wire to the range sensor. Over 120 mile test drive to confirm. Customer was called 10/06/2021 to check in and make sure problem was corrected and Mr. Strange does indeed think problem is resolved. Which means this may be the End of story! Thank You ****** *****
