Date of Pool resurfacing: 8/30/2021 Re: Invoice #5688 that was paid in full $15,550.00 Dispute: The surface of the pool is now cracking due to poor work done by Blue Flamingo and repairs are required. I have a quote from another company for $3,482.00 and am seeking that amount from Blue Flamingo. The attached photos show the cracks found in the pool over the top of where Blue Flamingo installed staples less than a year ago. I have contacted Blue Flamingo by emailed, phone call and texted photos, they have not responded to me. Blue Flamingo did not do the follow up care that was in the invoice of: balancing chemicals, brushing the plaster, filter cleaning. They did not properly seal areas around the: pool light, spa light, main drain bucket, pool return fittings and skimmer throat. Portions of a Google Review I left in 2021: Once the work started Jeff called to say he needed another $3,000.00 to do some additional repairs (pool needed staples). Were surprised as there was no talk about possible additional repairs needed when he quoted us. When we discussed the quote I said I wanted the equipment looked over and any repairs done so the pool would be 100% ready to go. The backwash lever is now leaking, there is a small leak at two PVC connections and the pressure (even with new DE/filters installed) is running over 30psi. Once the pool was resurfaced it did not look like what we order. I contacted Jeff and he said that was normal and it would change over time...it hasn't.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/04) */ During the prep work for the renovation, we found cracks in the shell of the pool. We could not see the issue until after we began the work due to completely green pool that prohibited us from seeing the pool service. The cracks were stapled, and the finish applied. We cannot warranty cracks will not reappear or that new cracks will not form. The cracks in the pictures are due to the shell of the pool shifting. It is not possible to predict when or where this will occur. Especially taking into account the single digit temperatures during the winter, the recent month of 100 plus degree temperature days, and 2 months of no measurable rain in the area. Soil issues are a major reason for a pool to crack, similar to a house foundation. Soil movement in this area of Texas is known for this. Especially on hillsides. This specific pool was actually built into a hill. Where part of the pool is in ground, and part of the pool is above ground. The pool being on a hillside may have been a contributing factor for the pool to crack also. This is referred to as "slope creep". This is caused by the soil shifting, exerts stress on the pool's shell, which may also cause cracks.
