I had services performed at Solis on 4/12/24 and 4/17/24 where I paid the amount due in full. Due to technical issues with claim processing, the business did not submit claims in a timely manner. Once claims were submitted (too late), the claims were denied (Sept 2024) per the contract with the insurance company. I contacted Solis on 9/11/24 requesting my refund since per the contract with insurance, the business cannot collect from the patient (EOB patient portion is $0). No action was taken by Solis to provide my refund when I called a few weeks later. I received different information each time I called. During October 2024 calls, the agent informed that an appeal was filed for the claims on 10/25/24. When I called a few weeks later, the agent informed that only the 4/17/24 service date has been appealed, so a new appeal was filed on 11/18/24 for date of service 4/12/24. I was told the appeals would take at least 30 days. I called on 1/29/25 for an update on the appeals, but Solis said they had no update, and I should wait another 10 business days for the decision. In tandem, I keep calling my insurance company for updates. I am informed that the first appeals are denied, yet Solis does not reach out to me. I call Solis in early February 2025 where they inform that they will file a second appeal on 2/6/25. I call Solis in March 2025 with no updates available. I call Solis on 5/9/25 where Solis incorrectly claims that my insurance will pay the claims after all and that the back office should now process my refund. I call Solis on 6/3/25 where the agent agrees that they in fact received a denial from my insurance company on the second appeals. The agent said I will receive the refund check in the mail. I call Solis on 6/25/25 but still the back office has not progressed my refund, they will have a supervisor call me. I receive a voicemail the next day from a supervisor saying he will escalate to the back office. I call on 7/16/25 but still no progress..Business Response

Thanks to the BBB for being the catalyst to receive my refund after a year of my attempting to resolve this directly with Solis. Although, I have now finally received my refund, my frustration remains that Solis made it impossible for patients to reach their back office billing team. The call center agents were always polite, but had no power to resolve the issue. Why did it take a BBB complaint to finally have a billing analyst call me within a week and promptly provide my refund? I provided no extra information in my BBB complaint that Solis did not already have documented. Your billing business practices are abhorrent.

I had a mammogram and ultrasound done with Solis on 1/9/2025 They told me my insurance does not fully cover and have to pay a percentage up front which was $93.00, So I did. After checking with my insurance, it was fully cover by my insurance. I have called them numerous times to request the refund in the past few months and they confirmed that there is a $93.00 credit sitting in my account but never issue the refund, and they will process it ASAP. As of today 5/18/2025 I still have not received my refund.Business Response

March 5, 2025 Paid Solis Mammography $888.28 for mammogram and breast ultrasound. Didn't need the ultrasound, so they said they would refund $440.36. And that it would take 2 weeks to get it. I have called numerous time (3/21/25, 4/8/25, 4/25/25, 5/2/25 and 5/16/25) and am always told it has not yet been processed by the back office. The last 2 times I asked to speak to a supervisor, but have been told one is not available, but they would have one call me. They did not. Today again I called (5/16/25) and was told the same thing. Again asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no one available but they would have one call me. It was been 8 weeks and still no refund.lBusiness Response

On 05/01/2025, I sent a Release of Information request along with my TDL for a copy of a report from 03/31/2025. I needed this report but was told by ****** the Care Manager that the report had been faxed to a facility that I had not told the facility to release my information to. I asked for the report to be mailed which I am entitled to and ****** told me just to go pick it up. the company has ignored my request, so the matter goes to another regulating agency to look into the matter. This is poor business practices on the behalf of this facility. They do not protect patient privacy as on one occasion I received a Release of Information form with someone else's name and personal information. They leave insurance cards in clear sight on the check in desk for anyone to see. No healthcare entity should operate in such a poor manner.Business Response

I had a breast biopsy done on 10/15/24, before the procedure, I remitted payment in the amount of $3537.00 to the provider. When my insurance company processed the claim in December 2024, they paid the claim in full to the provider since I had already met my annual out of pocket max. Therefore, Solis has owed me $3537.00 since December. I have contacted Solis numerous times and still have not received the refund as of 5/6/25. I just get the runaround every time I call them, which is daily now. I have never received any sort of statement from the provider as well.Customer Answer

fSolis Mammography will not release my medical records! I am awaiting the records to determine whether I need a breast biopsy. I have filed release of medical records for the next facility four times. I have faxed, emailed, and emailed again. I have called on five occasions, and I have been told twice the records are being uploaded to the Cloud. Today, once again, the new facility says no records have been uploaded.I called a Solis attendant today who refused to give me her first name. She said that she has emailed the two facilities for relesae of records. When I asked for either a copy of the email or email confirmation, this unnamed person refused. After one engage this week, Doylestown Health Hospital verified Solis had called and would release records. My ******************* provider specifically recalls that conversation! Today, Solis indicated, "Yeah, there is some record you asked us to call them--I don't know what happened."Not only is Solis malfeasance going to cost my insurance more money, I am living in a state of apprehension and fear around resolution of this issue. I have now spent time and again OVER A THREE WEEK PERIOD simply trying to get a release of my medical records, and this is AFTER ****************** has repeatedly verified they have a valid release.Business Response

Patient called back on 4/11/25 to verify if we had completed her request and was advised it was processing, it was escalated on this date. Request was completed on 4/14/25. Request was completed within the 15 day *** guidelines on processing medical records requests.Initial Complaint

I had a breast biopsy done at Solis Mammography of ******, **. After the biopsy was performed they determined they had done it in the wrong place and would need to do it again. They proceed to redo the biopsy and got it in the right place the second time. I was then sent a bill for two breast biopsies when the second one was preformed due to error on Solis and not myself. I tried disputing the charge with no luck. The insurance company told me that they billed for both with slightly different billing codes in order to get away with it. I contacted the insurance company to report and have filed insurance fraud after the billing company would not correct this. When I received the bill from the radiologist she had only charged me for one biopsy which helps my point of Solis billing this incorrectly. I was told by my gynecologist when I also explained it to her that this was not correct billing practice and I should dispute it.Business Response

CLINICAL: R92.8 - Previous Abnormal Diagnostic Breast Exam. Additional Imaging Needed - Left Breast.
PATIENT CONSENT: Informed consent was obtained after explanation of risks and benefits to the patient.
Comparison is made to prior exams.
A stereotactic guided biopsy was performed for the asymmetry located in the left breast upper inner aspect. This was described on the previous mammography report. The skin was prepped in the usual manner. Local anesthesia was achieved with intradermal administration 2 cc of 1 % ********* without *********** and deep administration of 26 cc of 1 % ********* with ***********. A skin **** was made in the breast. The abnormality was approached using an upright digital tomographic mammography unit. A 9 gauge biopsy needle was placed adjacent to the abnormality under computer guidance and confirmatory stereotactic mammography images were obtained to document needle placement. Once the needle was documented to be in the correct location, multiple specimens were obtained using the Suros ATEC system. Two titanium clips were inserted into the biopsy cavity. A skin closure strip was applied to the access site. Post procedure digital mammographic imaging demonstrates the clips at the targeted area and partial removal of the abnormality. The specimens were sent to the laboratory for pathological analysis. Please note the first attempt showed the clip antrior to the areao f concer. Thus, the procedure was repeated.
IMPRESSION: STEREOTACTIC GUIDED BIOPSY - BENIGN
Stereotactic guided biopsy of the asymmetry in the left breast upper inner aspect with placement of two clips was successful with no apparent post procedure complications. Pathology indicates benign fibroadenomatoid change. Pathology results are concordant with mammography findings.
A follow-up mammogram in 6 months is recommended. (07/04/2025)

I was overcharged by Solis Mammography. My insurance should have only been ***** copay and they proceeded to collect ****** from me at the time of services. I explained to them it should be covered and they told me it wasn't because it was a "special" mammogram. I should have trusted my gut because once I received my EOB, I see I should have only been charged *****. I called the billing department and their customer service agent had such a bad accent I could not understand her. Finally she said it could up to 90 days to get a refund. This is not OK. These imaging places are doing this more and more. Maybe they don't know how to verify insurance correctly or they just want to overcollect from the patients.Business Response
