After leveling the slab 3 times (2008 $12,000, 2011 $6,900, and 2013 $5,400) an area in the kitchen/ laundry/ A/C utility room, that had been previously stabilized with Helical Piers in 2011, has settled in or lowered causing doors to bind or not close, Sheetrock to crack and cabinets to come away from the walls. Other areas in the house are also being affected by this area being low, include brick and sheet rock cracks. April 29, 2022, Accurate Foundation representative ************* was contacted and came out and evaluated situation, but offered no slab leveling solution, suggesting replacing interior doors. May 2022, I contracted structural engineering firm ********* Engineering, to evaluate and make suggestions on how to proceed with stabilizing before we proceed with our remodeling. The leveling done in 2011 and in 2013 involved penetrating the slab, and exposed a large void, approximately 5- 6 under the slab. After measuring and evaluating the issues, ********* contacted *************, and then came back only to refer me to other foundation repair companies in the area. I have contacted two of these other foundation companies and one has offered a solution of filling the empty space under the slab, and raising the sunken floor with foam, at a cost of over $10,000.

      Business response

      09/27/2022

As previously stated in our first response emailed to you, we were not aware of this complaint.  We reached out to ******************** via telephone call.  Our last record of contact with ************** was in April of this year.  Our technician, ************* visited the house to evaluate his service call request.  Our technician believes ************** had a plumbing leak causing movement in the slab foundation, as his 2019 service call also reflected a plumbing leak and was noted.  Upon our phone call with **************, in regards to his BBB complaint, we were informed by him that he has three (3) leaks in his plumbing and he was in the process of getting a plumber to repair them. We informed ************** that plumbing leaks will cause future movements in slab elevations if not repaired in a timely manner.  We reassured him that if we need to adjust any of our installed piers that are under warranty, we would be more than happy to but also informed him that with the plumbing leaks it can cause movement of the slab in areas where we have not installed piers, and my need additional piers installed to correct the issues he is having, as a result of the plumbing leaks. We ended the conversation on good terms, and we will be sending our superintendent out in a timely manner to meet with **************, to evaluate the slab again and check the status of the plumbing repairs.
