This was the ABSOLUTELY worst company we have ever dealt with in regards to moving. Items were stollen, broken and lost!! I was told I had to have purchased MORE insurance in order for my claim to be paid. I dont understand why I would need to purchase more insurance on a company that claimed to be insured and bonded. The owner was no help in resolving the issues and the claims process was a joke!! We had over $3,000 in stolen, broken and lost items.Review from Jenny S

Hard to believe this company can even get a business license anywhere. Lies lies lies. They wont give you dates when they are going to deliver your stuff. When they finally say its leaving tomorrow theyll call you at 10 oclock the night before to say all your stuff dont fit on the truck. They will deliver half with most stuff broken and not give you a date to deliver the rest of your stuff! They will not call or apologize or explain why the half order delivered was damaged. They will give you the run around as to when the rest will be delivered. I have never in my life see a company lie so much. This is on the owner ****! He does not care about customers and clearly has been able to operate as a slum mover! Dont not believe any five star ratings on any site that they have! This business should be shut down! I have pictures and emails and texts that this company never replied to over numerous issues including $1000s of dollars in broken itemsReview from Dale R

GVL gave us the cheapest bid. The truck they came in was too small so they had to leave several large pieces of furniture. Even minus those big items, we were charged an additional $1,000. We had to rent a U-Haul to move the items they left behind. On delivery, the 2 drivers said they were unable to back their semi into our drive because there was not enough room and there would be a "long haul" charge from their truck to our house. Other semi-trucks had been in and out of our drive with no problem but we had to Venmo $1,000 to their personal account before they would unload. They dropped some of our furniture off the back of the truck instead of using the ramp. Since they didn't have proper equipment, they tried to slide our refrigerator/freezer down our stairway. It got away from them and almost impaled one of them in the landing. The wall was scratched up and hardwood stairs were damaged. When we asked them to be more careful, they said we had to sign a waiver. When we refused, they wouldn't move any of our other items downstairs. They did not set up or reassemble most of our things as promised in the contract. The items they said could not be moved down the stairs were left in our garage with all the packing materials still on. We are in our 70s and had no one to help us so we had to hire someone to help ** get those big items moved to our basement. We had 12 damaged items, our new coffee table was damaged beyond repair. We called to make a claim and were told an agent would call us within a week and that was over two months ago. Two employees of *** said that we should not have been charged $1,000 for the long-haul but we have not received a refund. So much for their so called great bid, after add-on charges and having to pay for a U-Haul and hired help to move items downstairs, we ended up paying about $3500 more than anticipated. We have moved several times and this was by far the most stressful, unprofessional, unethical experience we have ever had!Green Van Lines Moving Company - Dallas Response

We are sorry to hear that Mr. ******* was dissatisfied with his move with Green Van Lines. We did contact him via phone on 12/9/22, and left a voicemail message but did not receive a call back or any contact from the Consumer since that date (almost 3 months). We have again reached out to the Consumer today to assist him with filing a claim & left another voicemail message, followed by an email. Once we hear from Mr. *******, we would be happy to assist him with filing a claim under the $.60/lb/article coverage chosen by him for his move.Customer Response

I am not sure who they called and who they left a message with but according to the call history on my phone, I called them on 10/18/22 and 12/06/22 and the only time we received a call from them was on 3/01/23 at which time I was in the doctor's office and could not answer. They also sent an email that same day and I replied to their email and returned their called on 3/02/23.

This company has scammed me!!! I paid the full amount of $5,161 plus provided a tip of $400 to the movers. I purchased valuation insurance upfront as well. 1. The sales rep- Kevin told me initially that he would be the only person I would need to speak to. After I had booked my move, he only texted back, and always asked me to contact Diana at helpdesk for anything after that. I had confirmed with Kevin on text whether they could include the Tip amount in the invoice, to which he replied -"Yes". I have proof on messages. Now, they did not send me the tip included in invoice and Diana told me that Kevin is not in finance, so he can't commit to anything in accounting. 2. Diana cannot be reached. I have sent numerous emails, left numerous voice mails, but she does not return calls. 3. Our stuff was picked up on Oct21st from Dallas and reached San Jose on the 10th of Nov. (14business days, the last day as mentioned in the document) 4. Once we received the stuff, the LED TV is damaged. The legs to the platform bed is lost. The dining table top is scratched. I have been calling and emailing so I could file a claim ( I have prepaid for $21,000) of insurance, but they won't respond nor give me a claims number. It is now 2 weeks since our stuff arrived and we still cannot even reach them. 5. Diana at helpdesk asks me to submit an inventory document, which I was not given. I have all the paperwork given to me at pickup and delivery and a signed inventory list is not there. 6. Diana told me she needs to wait for the driver to submit the paperwork, to even give me the claims number. I texted the driver and he said he had turned in paperwork a long time ago. It's now 2 weeks since our stuff was delivered. I have paid $5146 plus a $400 tip. Also bought valuation insurance. Now this company is not reachable through phone or email. Please Avoid this company if you want to save you and your family from harassment!!!!!!!Review from Michael H

Moving with Green Van Lines was a wonderful over all experience. ****** was very diligent in her process of helping me and my wife find the best option for our situation while moving. Once setup they made sure to contact me 2 days before and one day before the move to ensure the schedule was still a go. Once the day arrived ****** made sure to contact me half an hour before arrival alerting me that he would be arriving on time. Once arriving ************************** and **** were open to helping us pack what needed packing move what needed moving and even went above and beyond to help move some small things that needed assistance. The work was quick and efficient and would definitely recommend going with them based on the level of customer service that was presented.Review from Mihir B

Absolutely do not use these movers. At the beginning of my move, I was confident I had made the right call: the movers arrived at my apartment on-time, were friendly and efficient, and extremely professional. But it all went wrong when they had my stuff. The sales guy I originally spoke to gave me a delivery window of April 5-9. After days of trying to confirm a delivery date and time, not only do I not have a confirmed time, they haven't even assigned a driver or truck to my delivery! When I contact them, they insist there's nothing they can do but refresh their screen and contact "management." When I asked to speak to management myself, they said no. When I asked by when a driver would be assigned, they said they weren't sure. It is now past the delivery window, I have none of my stuff, no knowledge of when or if it will arrive, and am sleeping on the floor. Again, my experience has been absolutely horrible: I would strongly suggest that if you would like your movers to, y'know, have a truck and driver, you should choose anyone else. I'd be better off with a teenager in a u-haul: at least they can drive and communicate, two skills I think it's fair to expect movers to have. Very friendly and hardworking staff. Pick up and drop off was punctual. Unfortunately our things required an additional truck so it did not coordinate with original estimate. Only a lamp was injured in transit. I would recommend them as long as you keep communicating with them during entire move. Very affordableReview from Makayla C.

Packers ... Do Not Label BOXES at all ... DO NOT follow instructions ... Leave your yard trashed from their water, etc.

We do apologize that you had some issues with the Dispatch Dept. Currently, we are dealing with a much higher volume than usual due to the influx of moves that has occurred during the COVID pandemic. We do try our best to return every call in a timely manner and apologize that you did not receive a prompt response.
