In May 2021 ****** ***** came to my house to evaluate the sewer system needed for a new 40'x40' metal building. We discussed several options and mutually agreed installation of a new sewer line from the building to an existing septic tank was the best option. Mr. ***** gave me an estimate and agreed to have his parents company pump down the septic tank before installation of the new line. I was required to remove a fence, a tree, and limbs from a second tree to provide access for his excavator. The site prep was completed within 2 weeks and Mr. ***** said he would schedule the job. I requested 2-3 days notice and he agreed. With only 24 hrs. notice Mr. ***** scheduled the job on the Saturday afternoon before Mother's Day. I had family visiting for the holiday and he replied 'No problem. I'll reschedule on Monday.' After a month I requested an update. He replied he was too busy and would not do the job. I feel that is unethical and I should be compensated.Business response

I do regret having to inform you that I would not be able to help you with your sewer line hook up. I try my best to service everyone as soon as possible and I am sorry I could not prioritize your job to the top of my list. I acknowledge I did not give you the 2-3 day advancement we talked about and I understand that working on Mother’s Day would be an inconvenience for us both but I was willing to take some of my time on Mother’s Day to do your job. I am sorry we could not align our busy schedules. Sorry for the inconvenience an going forward I will continue to improve my work scheduling with customers.

I am rejecting this response because I did not hire Mr. ***** to help me with a job. I hired him to do perform an entire job. I completed all the site preparation he required on time and then he just walked away from his obligation. Sadly, he feels ethically and morally justified in doing so because due to visiting family and with minimal notice, I asked not to do the job on Mother's Day.The BBB Code of Business Practices that Mr. ***** agreed to adhere to as a member is intended to build and maintain trust. Specifically, principle number 5 is Honor Promises - Abide by all written agreements and verbal representations. Mr. ***** is neither building trust nor honoring his promises. I respectfully request the BBB to remove Mr. ***** as member or at a minimum lower his rating to a level that reflects his commitment to his customers and the BBB Code.
