Bought vehicle from **** **** Kia. Loan was with BBVA, Registered vehicle in Florida. Sent too much money. Florida sent refund. Now can't get refund back. Said has to go back to bank unless I receive letter. Called bank and its been two weeks trying to get letter to send to dealership. Meanwhile dealership refuses to give me refund from Florida. Not getting anywhere between bank and dealership. Dealership was supposed to register vehicle with Florida and I ended up having to do it myself. Just a big mess no one will help solve.Business response

Good Afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. ****** came in and purchased a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 on March 6, 2021. We processed their title work and sent to Florida DMV. Florida DMV logged the paperwork received March 19, 2021. We received two checks back from Florida DMV as overcollected. When Mrs. ****** called me to inform me the check was being mailed to us I let her know that once received we would refund all the additional money collected to the lienholder which was BBVA Compass Bank. Mrs. ****** wanted the money refunded to her. I explained to her that we had to refund any monies due that were financed to the lienholder first. She was upset by that and asked what she could do to get the money refunded to her. She felt that Florida would say she owed the money later. I explained to her the only way to refund the money to her was if the lienholder approved it. Mrs. ****** than called the bank to get a letter approving us to refund the customer rather than the bank. About two weeks later after she tried to get them to send a letter the bank told her they would not write the letter. Mrs. ****** than called me and told me that she was going to refinance the vehicle with another bank and asked if she could receive the money then. I told her yes I could refund the money to her as long as I had confirmation from the lienholder the account was paid in full. Mrs. ****** came in May 5th with the receipt she paid off the account in full and I refunded her 1660.23.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Case resolved. Refinanced, received money and paid the taxes when I owed to Florida As stated to dealers taxes weren’t paid the way they should have been paid.
