There was $30,000 worth of roof damage plus an additional $6,000 of water damage from the roof when we recently attempted to sell our house after Coastline ************* was supposed to be managing the property as we are a military family and were no longer living in the area. They clearly did not do a move out inspection or they would have smelled the mold and mildew in the garage and front room. It was only after listing it with another company that they told us there was mold and mildew and damage to the roof. We trusted our property manager, ***********************, to keep us updated on the house and any problems and she neglected to do her job. We would have got the roof repaired immediately but instead had to pay thousands of dollars to get the mold remediated. I want $6000 back (the money we paid for mold remediation) as well as an apology from this company and *****.Business response

Thank you for the email regarding this complaint. I am happy to meet with our **************************** to see what actually transpired and will respond with pertinent information. As we are not a roofing company, none of our managers would be accessing a roof of any property. I appreciate the opportunity to look into the details.

I am rejecting this response because: I did not ask the property manager to be a roofer or access the roof I asked her to walk through the property when the renters moved out and actually check for damage which was not done.

I am rejecting this response because: obviously thousands of dollars of water damage didnt happen in one month. The water leak in the garage was there for a much longer time period. I am not satisfied that this is the response of Coastline Properties. The fact that the property manager has not returned my phone calls or email means they know they didnt do their job. And I can definitely attest that the landscaping was not done as we had to spend a ridiculous amount of money to get that redone as well. So, Im guessing Coastline Properties just pocketed the money from the previous tenant on that part.

Attached is a copy of the Written Description of Security Deposit Deductions which is mailed to a tenant within 30-days of receipt of the keys for a property. Per ***** Law.
Attached is a copy of the *** Listing showing the Listing Date of 5/3/2023 with photos of the home. You'll also see the write ** in the Property Description drawn up by the Listing Agent describing this property Coastline Properties has managed since 2012.
Thank you for the courtesy of one final explanation. Other than the outstanding electric invoices, and the electricity still being on at this home under Coastline Properties name as a courtesy to the owners since the tenant vacated June 1st, this rental file closed on the date the written security deposit form & documentation was mailed to the tenant along with the check of the remaining security deposit to the tenant. This file is now closed.
Thank you once again.

I am rejecting this response because the attached photo shows the water damage in June. Obviously there was not a hurricane or severe enough weather to cause such damage between Coastline Properties stopping management of the house and us trying to sell it. And, yes the electric is still under Coastline Properties and my husband will be paying it and having it transferred to the new owners when they take possession. It is the least the company could do seeing as we were forced to pay over $30,000 in damages because of their negligence in telling us that the roof and windows had been damaged and the house smelled of mold.I will be contacting the military base to let the housing office know that they should or recommend your company as well as letting every group I know of full of military spouses not to use Coastline Properties.
