I spoke with ************************* (Project Consultant) for Mammoth and I stated, that the only way, I would do business with him was if he could assure me with a date, my roof would be replaced. According to him, he spoke to his office and he stated he would have my roof replaced the following Thursday and supplies would be dropped off the day prior (Wednesday). I signed the a Roof replacement contract on 28 Nov 22 and he asked for my deductible upfront of $1,000. I wrote **#**** for the amount and handed it to him in a white envelope. Slightly over 24 hrs, I F/U with an e-mail to see if everything was on schedule. Then in an e-mailed me 29 Nov in the evening and mentioned thet he forgot to clarify that the $1,000 upfront was to pull the stock but that he wasn't certain if the supplies to replace the roof would arrive Wednesday (the day prior installation) or even that Thursday (day of installation) ??. I perceived he was pulling back from our agreement so early on 30 Nov 2022, I decided to cancel the contract on early 30 Nov 22 on account my 3 day grace ****** to cancel the contract was running out and I couldn't take any chances. After Federal Expressing the Cancellation form to Mammoth Roofing Contracting in ******************************. I sent a courtesy e-mail to ************************* and cc'd my USAA Insurance Property adjuster to keep him in the loop of me canceling the contract with Mammoth Roofing. According to Mammoth 3 day cancellation policy. I would get my deposit back within 10 days after cancellation. I sent an e-mail to the Mammoth Contracting Office yesterday (20 Dec 22) that I had not received my refund of $1,000, based on **#****, dtd 30 Nov 22. ******************************* replied back today (21 Dec 22) stating that she asked her colleague ************************* and was informed that the ** made out to Mammoth hadn't been cashed. I responded back this evening that it was unethical for either ************************* to hold back a check made out to Mammoth. I want Ck#**** returned.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.The Mammoth Project Consultant had Shown up unexpectedly
I didn't open my door, especially since I wasn't expecting anyone. He sent a text indicating that he had placed my personal check underneath front door floor mate.
I had asked for check to be mailed but perhaps the contracting office received your e-mail.
