I took my vehicle to Mr. ************ for a perceived transmission issue. The gentleman named ****** expressed that he had experience with these types of vehicles and at that time he recommended that I replace the entire transmission. He gave me a quote of $4650, I expressed to him that I am prepared to try and pay that amount if it is in need of a replacement transmission. However, I asked lets confirm if it is even the transmission or if its something dealing with the transmission that can be fixed. The company assessed the vehicle . And stated that the entire transmission did not need to be replaced but the torque converter was stuck open. He went on to explain that the torque converter and other minor issues will cost $2900. He went on to explain that if the computer of the transmission goes out, we can fix that also and just bring it back, but it may be a separate charge. I eventually paid the full balance of the completed job however, after I reviewed the paperwork that was written , the paperwork reads that they did a physical assessment first and..then they said they recommend replacing the entire transmission. This is not the sequence of events that happened. I spoke with ******, and he even stated himself that he has experience with these stupid vehicles, and he understands that most of the time the transmissions need to be replaced however, as it is written it seems that their documentation is saying that they physically assess the vehicle first and recommended a transmission after that. That is not what happened they recommended a total transmission replacement without even looking at it. Right now the documentation reads that I denied a new transmission because of cost that is not true. I wouldve paid it if it were in need of one however it wasnt. I just want the documentation to be fixed to reflect the sequence of events.
