Wife went there to purchase a vehicle. They put on a $3200.00 extended warranty she never agreed to. When she questioned them the sales person said it was "required". She got up and left and as she was walking out, then they said they would take it off. She kept walking and did not purchase the vehicle. What they are doing is illegal. A formal complaint has been file with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles .Review from rosa l

They ask me to make a appointment to get my car fixed after the first time I took it. So I did. 8 days after I took it they had not even looked at it. On the eighth day I talked with the service manager James. After explaining my situation to him he basically told me if I didn't like the wait I could just go pick up my car. I didn't pick it up because I already had eight days invested here & didn't want to wait another week waiting at another shop. It's been 15 days and he called me today after me to let me know that they will work on my car after they work on another car they have. So 15 days & I already exhausted by car rental. And they are barely gonna work on it. I explained I have a job and 2 kids that have activities and I can't be without a car. I asked since they were taking so long if I could have a rental and he said no. ( For a 2nd time). I wrote a review on him hoping that the upper management would see it and contact me since I have made every effort to constantly call them. I've left messages for the general manager. I've left a review and nothing. When James hears about my review he calls me yelling at me. Saying he doesn't not appreciate my review on that HE WILL REMEMBER THAT ON ME! That felt threatening to me and I'm wondering by the tone of his conversation what he will do to my car or if he will delay my car being fixed longer. That's very unprofessional and u can't believe they allow this kind of behavior. It's a simple request to have my car fixed in a timely manner since I did make a appointment for that purpose. If it's not unreasonable to ask for a loaner while they take longer then expected.Review from Bryce K

TL;DR = Poor service. Very confusing. Exaggerated wait times. Engine replacement/repair done poorly. Broke several engine compartment retaining clips. They put the wrong oil in my car even though it's written on the engine oil reservoir cap. I have the paperwork stating they messed this up. The technician neglected to secure the majority of the cables and several retaining clips were obviously broken. There were several pieces of electrical tape that may have been no issue but couldn't be explained to me either except the piece that was clearly holding a piece of a broken retaining clip that still did not work. The repair took three months and at least a few of the ordered parts were broken during that process and had to be reordered extending the repair time. The oil that was in my vehicle when I left is of the wrong oil weight for my engine. The employee in the parts department at one point handling my ticket was fired and I am sure this too extended the repair time. During my conversation with the Fleet Manager he asked me what I wanted him to do. I was far too frustrated at this point to think clearly and not being knowledgeable about vehicle repair was unsure what to ask for or say. I only knew that the state I received my vehicle in was not acceptable. I eventually left because I was only asked if I "wanted" them to do this or that and felt I couldn't trust them to make any repairs and only to continue confounding the problems more. I expected professionals to be able to identify an issue and offer the solution without being so annoyingly dismissive. This is not a productive place to get your vehicle serviced in any meaningful manner. They couldn't even put the right oil in. It's stated on the engine. Baytown Ford and salesman JIM L***** I was originally contacted by Melody, a sales associate of Baytown Ford. She was rather pleasant and very informational over the phone, I relayed to her I was purchasing this vehicle for my son. Then I was contacted by JIM L***** at 10:08 am and was told vehicle was available 10:31 am JIM L***** stated that the vehicle was available and sent me a purchase order with a $3200 dollar markup. I told him I would not pay that a would go elsewhere 10:44 am JIM L***** contacted me and stated markup was taken off if I purchased vehicle. 10:58 am JIM L***** stated they could sell vehicle without markup, I told him to email my wife credit app and I text him email address. One hour goes by and no email 12:08 pm I notified JIM L***** that I has received a pre approval for purchase from my bank . 12:09 pm I told JIM L***** to run are credit to see if they could beat rate. JIM L***** replied "DONE". 12:10 pm to 2:19 pm no reply from JIM L*****. 2:19 pm JIM L***** contacted my wife and ran our credit finally. 2:46 pm I get a text from JIM L***** vehicle sold. I contacted dealership and spoke with a very eager receptionist that stated someone else came into dealership and paid markup around 12:30 pm I don't know how buisness is conducted at Baytown Ford, but where I'm come from your only as good as your word. JIM L***** decided to take higher offer when we had already reached a deal and went back on his word.Review from Andrea B

As far as purchasing a new car goes, I have not had a better experience anywhere else. It's still a dealership, but I have never had a bad experience here that wasn't immediately fixed. Any time I have had an issue, it has been quickly resolved, and I really appreciate this. Although I am giving a 5 star review, keep in mind that this is a place that is in business to make money off selling vehicles...I don't like dealing with sales people!! 5 stars doesn't mean they are perfect....they just have gotten my vote for the best experience in purchasing cars and they are the best I have dealt with when it comes to maintenance hassles! I have walked away from dealerships while in the finance stages because I didn't like the way things were being handled...one of which was another ford dealership (not located in the same city). I have purchased from other dealerships and been highly disappointed with my experience from day 1...even with a new car! Baytown Ford has been good about responding to any issues I've had...my parents also purchased from this dealership for many years. If you really want to know how I feel about this dealership, I'll tell you this....I moved over an hour away from it and still went back to them to purchase when I knew we wanted a new Ford, and it was worth the drive!Review from Mike M

Terrible customer service. Bought a very expensive truck from them with a promise from the salesman that I get one free oil change and detail. Made an appointment and drove an hour to get oil changed and manager wouldn’t honor it. Said it was only good for 90 days. That’s after he argued with me about buying my truck there. Couldn’t find me in the system he said. I tried to tell him that they told me it was good and that’s why I drove all the way over. Very rude manager acted like I was wasting his time. I’ll never go there again.Baytown Ford Response

Mr.M******* purchased this vehicle from us in October of 2020. Policy states that he must return with we/owe form within 30 days of purchase. I have obtained a copy of it that he signed as well. While we value all of our customers, our policies are in place for a reason and we must abide by them. Thank you.
