I paid for a life policy through my employer at *********** Works for myself and my spouse which started in January 2025. Unfortunately, my husband was sick and I was not able to work however these benefits offered and allowed employees to pay through your debit card, whichis what I selected when I set up this benefit. My benefit of life insurance is through the American worker for myself and my husband. My policy was for $10,000. My husband was $5000. This policy came out out of my checking account every two weeks my husband, unfortunately passed away March 2 at the same time I received a letter in the mail from the insurance company stating my benefits had been terminated Due to termination of employment. However, after speaking with my manager and my HR group, my employment was not terminated, and I was still considered an active employee. Once I called the American worker, they stated I was only allowed to make three payments from my debit card per Bath And Body Works and how they set if up through the American worker. Then once I advise them, they had already taken four payments from my debit account. I was then told it was because I didnt have any hours. The only statement in the benefits explanation is that you have to be an active employee. There is no specification for how many hours is required to work in any amount of time. I am still considered an active employee through *******************. They refusing to pay out my $5000 policy that I paid for out of my debit account for my spouse I have received several different excuses for nonpayment. I would like this resolved and will continue to seek a better resolution and pay out for the policy I paid for.

I had a physical in Jan 2023. As part of the normal process, they do blood work. Physicals are supposed to be covered according to ACA. Summit medical (the provider) keeps filing the lab works as "general healtcare" instead of preventative, which means the insurance company (The American Worker) won't pay it. Last year I got so frustrated with the mess I called Summit medical and asked them what I owed and they said $124.27. I asked if that was everything I owed because I did not want to ever deal with them again. They said yes, so I paid it. After a YEAR from not hearing anything from them, I get ANOTHER bill for $71 for a GENERAL HEALTH PANEL. I've spent hours on the phone including a conference call between Summit Medical and the American Worker and both sides keep pointing at each other and expect me to pay the bill. I've even sent a copy of Summit's bill to the American Worker showing them I'm being charged for a GENERAL HEALTH PANEL. I've tripled confirmed that Summit Medical was in network (once with American Worker on the phone). THERE IS NO REASON ROUTINE BLOOD WORK SHOULD NOT BE COVERED AS PART OF A PHYSICAL! THAT'S THE MAIN POINT OF GETTING A PHYSICAL!!!! Summit medical is now hounding me with e-mails and phone calls over something they refuse to do competently. I am asking BBB to help make this go away and have American Worker refund me the $124 for my headache in all of this. I am also going to file a report on Summit Medical stating the same thing as this.

The coverage you selected covers wellness related services.  Those services are defined in your plan and on the government website for ACA Wellness procedures by age and gender.

You are seeing doctors that are submitting bills that are billed for procedures that are not wellness - procedures for treatment of ailments.

Those procedures are not covered under the plan you selected.  This fall you can re-evaluate your coverage and make changes for 2025.

They provide part time insurance at my company. I had gotten a promotion after signing up for part time insurance. My coverage never began- however I was charged from January to August. Bi-Weekly. I noticed in June, made verbal contact in July since emails hadnt gotten me anywhere. As of now its September and they have reissued 3 checks that magically never made it to my house with the rest of my mail. Ive been told weekly since July that theres a check on the way & two months later I have yet to receive it. So I was AUTO DEDUCTED beginning Jan 1 for 8 months for something that was cancelled by my November ****************** a pretty solid refusal to refund at this point:

I have never received an email from The American Worker until today, July 8 2023, saying they will charge my bank account and listed my bank routing number and account number. The problem is I have never provided them this information, I have never signed up with them and there is no reason they should have my bank information let alone my contact information on file. The number they provide to cancel the charge does not give an option to actually cancel the draft, instead you can only choose a plan you want to sign up for. I think this company is a scam because they also ask for my social security number immediately when calling. However, I have NEVER given them my personal information, I have never given them my bank information and I have never given them my social security ********** dont feel safe giving it to them. I have tried calling and emailing to request to delete my sensitive personal information along with telling them to not illegally draft money from my bank account without me knowing but they will not answer. I received the scam email on July 8 2023 at 5:12 am from the email ************************************** I would like the business to contact me and provide proof they have deleted all my sensitive banking information along with a refund of any and all illegal charges they have charged me as I have no idea what the company is and they must have used fraudulent means to retrieve my banking information and social security number.
