Job was a complete paint job on my **** Mustang. I delivered the car on June 3,2021. Agreed upon price was $ ******. About a month later I received a phone call from the manager stating he would need $29,000to do it. Obviously I said no. The owner ***************** called me the following day, apologized for that previous call and said what he needed was time. I gave him 15 1/2 months for the job. Original time line was 5-6 mos.I received the car back on September 28,2022, after several postponements on the delivery date. Other than some obvious trim issues that were acknowledged by his people, roof trim dented, windshield trim loose, drivers side window crank very tight, drivers side door lock not working, horn not working, I accepted delivery of the vehicle, with the understanding that I could bring the car back to repair these items. When I got the car home I discovered I had no brake lights.( I drove this car home that way. I also discovered many more issues with the car including spots on the new vinyl top that cost me $1500. I also discovered I had no other lights, a loose hood hinge, radio not working, the rear lower valance loose, a brake line leak, and a gas line leak, all a result of reconstruction this vehicle at the body shop. Now the car is dangerous.***** did send his main mechanic to my home with basically nothing resolved. I scheduled to bring the car in to get repaired 3 times with weather getting in the way all three times. On the fourth call to confirm the date, I was informed by the manager they would not be working on my Mustang again. He also confirmed this came straight from ***********************. I informed him this car was now dangerous and to please have ******************* me. That phone call never came. Its not the money, I paid him more than he asked. At this point all I want is the job to be finished and the car to be made safe.

      Business response

      03/07/2023

************ initially came in for an estimate on October 7, 2020, at a time when ACBW was not busy due to covid shut down.  *********** returned June 3, 2021 to drop off his vehicle for repairs.  At this time ACBW had returned to a more normal state of busy.  This significantly affected the time it took to complete ************** paint/body restoration.

The agreed upon job for *********** was a paint/body restoration, as detailed in his Final Bill.  A high-quality paint/body restoration was performed and *********** was pleased with the paint/body results.  This was not a complete restoration of the vehicle, only general rust/body repair and repaint.

The issues that *********** has with his vehicle are primarily mechanical issues.  These are issues that **** Mustangs tend to have, were not agreed to be repaired and were not billed as part of the paint/body restoration.
