On 11/7/2023 we had our fall inspection/maintenance done by Sparta ********** Conditioning. Furnace is located in attic & tech stepped through our living room ceiling, causing extensive damage. Several phone calls to the office have resulted in a "contractor" showing up one evening around 4 or 5PM (he was supposed to arrive 9AM}. He also missed a 10AM appointment on 12/14/23.. No phone call, nothing. We left a message on his phone with no response. I called the office again & spoke with the "residential manager" who said he would take care of the problem. Have spoken to no one since 12/14/23. Seems they're not interested in repairing our ceilingl They have photos of the damage, as do we,as well as our copy of the invoice which notes that the tech caused the damage.Business response

I am so sorry!! ****************** I thought this had already been handled by the contractor and was not aware that it has not. I will look into this immediately. If we need to find a different contractor we will. I will call you as soon as I know something this week.

I am rejecting this response because:We have been getting this response since last November & would really like to SEE some action. We attempted to contact company owner yesterday. Reached what seems to be answering service. No response as of yet. We've been doing business with Sparta Heat & Air for 25 years & really expected better.

I contracted Sparta H&C to remove my electric furnace; and replace it with a gas furnace. They said they could do the job in one (1) day. They showed up on June 2nd, 2023. One of the servicemen was under the house (crawspace) trying to rearrange the gas lines. I told him not to mess with them because they were preinstalled and tested by a local gas company. His flextube was too short. I said he should have the necessary fittings in his service truck. Later he removed and rearranged the preinstalled fittings; without shutting off the gas from the propane tank; nor retesting the gas line. This was not in their contract. The air filter does not have a bracket for it to sit in, so he just had the filter sitting on top of the furnace. This leaves 1/2" open space on each side of the filter. When messing with the ceiling; insulation fell all around the furnace and inside the top by the blower motor. He tried to test the blower motor, but if failed to work. Actually I am glad; because then all that insulation around the blower motor would have blown down and into the duct work. In a few months I would have the insulation circulating within my house. Bad for my health. The sub-base the furnace is setting on is not securely fastened to the floor. This makes the furnace rock. I noticed they were rocking the furnace when trying to connect the flextube. They have not changed the orifices from natural gas to propane. Because the sub-base is incorrect the entire unit has to be removed and reinstalled. The flextube has to be replaced with black pipe. A filter rack has to be installed, along with a new motor. Today is June 12th, 2023, and they have not returned to complete the job. When I contact them; they simply say they are trying to get me in their schedule. All of these problems have been brought to their attention. The simple question is: Why are they taking time to correct their mistakes. We, Sparta Heat & Air Conditioning, ***** are sorry for the problems we have had with this client. As of today, June 23, 2023, we believe we have resolved all of *********************** issues with our installation process. We are sending a manager from our company this afternoon to be sure the installation of this equipment has been completed to *********************** satisfaction. Sparta Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business since **** under the same ownership. We have a proven track record from our history with the Better Business Bureau, our 34 years in business, and being chosen #1 by the community. As a company, we are never happy when we have customer that is not happy.
